Just got back from WFoM in Pittsburgh. Mint booth had a vending machine for the Trump coins. Dollar in, coin out. There was a very small line on opening day.
Strike looks flat. Hard pass. I'd rather have a 2026 penny as a souvenir but that's just me.
The rev looks like a gaming token
The brass look and flat strike combo reminded me of a golf range ball machine token. Maybe in hand they'll look better (later pics did show a bit better)

Wonder why no announcement. Was this intentional?
can not find any documented proof of this. probably a scam to sell more coins.
You think CAC is scamming us?
NO was a reference to the posting not to CAC . found other documentation after much searching. edited post see above
so easy to twist post to make an unintented assumption. Sorry for the confusion.
OK. What you describe is more like a gimmick than a scam. I don't see where where putting a privy mark on a coin would be construed as a dishonesty or trickery.

Again you are trying to assume something that was not said. I will try to make it more clear for you . I was refering to the assumption the story itself might have been made up to spark sales. After finding the story was legitimate I inferred it was a gimmick to sell more coins which it is as the coin has nothing to do with July 4.
Never said or implied that a privy was dishonest.

Years from now no one will know or care what month they were released. It's the nation's 250th anniversary of July 4, 1776, and the privy will be a special version of the coin whose actual rarity is yet to be determined.
Heck, if I ever get a July 4th privy quarter it sure won't have been on or before July 4th.

Yikes! That dollar is already outdated...expiration date July 4th.

Anybody here old enough to remember how back in the 1970’s and 1980’s and 1990’s and 2000’s and 2010’s and 2020’s people very much like us kept saying “Dollar Coins Will Circulate When They Stop Issuing Dollar Bills!”
“Be careful what you ask for. You might just get it!”
No one is asking for anything. Just stating facts.
People are attached to paper, and the only way to wean them will be to eliminate paper. That said, so many payments are electronic nowadays that it is far more likely that paper will be replaced by cards and smartphones than by coins.

Heck, the nation's 250th anniversary was actually on July 3, 2026.

A little late for a July 4th privy IMO.

You're not expecting next July to have a 4th?
