@jmlanzaf did you cancel your order or something? LOL!
Lol. No. Not yet.
I just got 8 from the MINT. They sold at 179 in a couple days.
They were slower moving than before, but the price seems stable at the moment.
I've been debating cancelation all week. The fact that 12,000 are available again makes me think i may cancel half of them. Idk. I still have 220ish on order. I have 10 presold to a dealer. Do I want/need 210 in inventory with classes starting imminently?
Or since I'm still making $30 or so per set, should I buy a couple hundred more? Lol
Oh no! I don't think you want 1 couple hundred more, although we should be approaching the end of what the Mint will have to offer.
With classes starting imminently, and sales steady but slower, you might have time to handle all your shipping needs and still teach. What subject do you teach these young folks?
Chemistry.
I don't want to have time. LOL. That means my inventory isn't moving.
It's a math problem with a crystal ball. If the price holds, which it rarely does forever, I'm spending $27k to make $6k. That's a nice return even if it takes me roughly 20 hours to pack and ship.
But if the price drops $20, then I'm spending $27k to make $2k and that's still good for 20 hours week.
But if the price drops $30 or more, then I'm breaking even our losing money even after I spend the 20 hours.
And a $30 price drop is still $149 per set. Could they reasonably drop to $125 by Christmas?
I really need to get my crystal ball fixed.
Ah, not one of my life’s highlights. Always struggled with the sciences. I was always more of a math-guy.
Your investment numbers work out, but I don’t think dropping over 12,000 more sets into the market at this stage is good for secondary price stability. They’ve only moved 600 sets this morning and have 12186 left. Granted, people don’t yet know they're available yet again. ,
Yes. I noticed the sluggish pace of sales. Lol.
Could be just that nobody expected this to come back at this level. It's a pretty quiet period with the Mint, so perhaps people aren't checking the site as aggressively as before. Next "big thing" is the next quarter and the BOM4 to bring major traffic back to the site. Zero issues with getting on this week. I did place an order, and noticed a new "verify you're human" box to click on, so I think they've been actively working to address the bot concern before the next big drops.
I don't know. I just got notification that they shipped 16 more sets to me. So maybe I can sell those before the market craters. Lol. But not if the Mint can't sell the last 11,000 sets soon.
Yes, it’s creeping along and the word is out.
On another note, the clad proof set has been returning ATB all week long. They seem to come and go in spurts, but it’s daily.
Should be gone by Monday then, as you calculated. Unless, of course, you get the itch to buy some more????
I looked at the sales reports. Looks like there were 14,000 returns of cancellations been July 20 and July 26.
So you think they need until August 21 (the backorder date) to repackage those that had been opened?
No. Not necessarily. They may well have been cancelations. I forget when those 30,000 were sold. They could be cancelations. They might also be minting replacements for returns. Really impossible to say. But I think that's where the 13,000 came from today. They were showing 294k+ sales before that. It dropped to 280k on the 26th and then crept back up to 287k on August 10th.
I wish they'd sell out again. Lol.
9505 on this beautiful Friday morning. Go get 'em!

It seems pretty steady and consistent, but for how long? This new drop of 12,000 doesn't ship until next Friday, but is that enough time to unload 200? I feel like the attention will stay on this set until the Proof clad set (in the Fall SOMETIME) as attention has certainly faded away from the Silver proof set.

My 200 are mostly probably skipping next week also. About 25 of them shipped yesterday.
I don't know. Like I said, I may regret it either way.
The cents are still selling for 75 to 90 each.

The last group just flipped to processing. But, yes. That's why I'm undercutting everyone on the price. Lol. I net $14 or $15 each at that number. I'm hoping to move them quickly, hopefully in multiple.

I have been watching these sets for longevity, with an eye on the Fall sets.
These have not come back in the AM since the sellout of that large lot we watched last week.

Smart move. hope you unload all of them.
It's always a gamble. I do, however, feel there's a floor with these because of the cents.

Of course. Lol. The mint just shipped me 92 of my last 191.
I had my chance to cancel yesterday. The order for 99 didn't go through the CC the first time and I had to call them. I almost canceled out of frustration. I had to go through 2 agents and input the CC number 7 times before their system "caught it". And it only worked after they called me. When I had called them, it never showed up. Oddly flaky system.
On the bright side, I sold the last 22 I had at $159 in less than 24 hours. I just need price/demand to last throb the weekend.

They're just about gone now. Down to 3, which will undoubtedly be gone by the time I finish posting this.
I have had that odd problem with the CC as well. Same card on file for years now with no issues, but every once in awhile they make me go thru the same frustrating experience you just had. Each agent has a different take on what the problem is, but in the end it always goes through.

Keep it up. Still a lot of FOMO out there.
List it and they will buy.
I hope. Remember, they are shipping somewhere around 20,000 sets this week.

I hope. Remember, they are shipping somewhere around 20,000 sets this week.
Just remember Fudd’s first law of opposition

On the bright side, I sold the last 22 I had at $159 in less than 24 hours. I just need price/demand to last throb the weekend.

I just had to call about an order stuck on processing for a couple weeks and had the same experience you did yesterday. She made mention that if you have any uncirculated sets on order that are stuck in processing that you should call them soon as they get calls daily asking for more of them.

There is definitely still demand currently. As I said, I sold 22 in a day at $159. And others continue to sell at $169 to $179. But demand isn't infinite and I don't know what the additional 20,000 or so will do to the pricing.
As I said in response to someone else, I do think there's a floor under these due to the cents. But I'm not sure the floor isn't below $124.50. I can imagine a $50 as the floor for the cents which is $100 for the set. I don't know when (or if) we get there. But, of course, I'd rather not be holding 190 sets when that happens. LOL.
It's really less about the actual price and more about the timeline. Back in 2017, I had hundreds of the Enhanced Uncirculated Sets when the price collapsed to the issue price. I sold them all at a profit, but it took several months and I had to sell them as singles to do it.
Although, LOL, if I want to complain about the other side of the equation, with classes starting Monday, I'm not sure I could ship 192 packages in a day anymore.

There's a floor for sure, and a time when nobody will be looking for them any longer. As the Mint fulfillment employee said "We are getting calls all the time asking for them" Again today there were over 100 of them when I got around to looking. They've been coming back up every day now this week, but that will die off shortly as returns and cancellations on those additional sets cease. By that time, I can imagine you'll be done with them. What do they have to ship to you yet?
Ahhh Monday.....back to school. Best of luck, and I hope you have a great year with a bunch of easy-to-deal-with students. I've still got a high-school student at my age. We start Tuesday.

There may be 9705 in a couple hours. Lol

Wow! Big drop today.
I feel like I'm going to hate myself either way. LOL. If the market is soft and I struggle to unload the 200+ units, I'll be sorry I didn't cancel some of them. On the other hand, if the market stays steady and I sell them all, I'm going to be sorry I didn't buy more.

Got my one set last week. Overall looked pretty nice…..
ats: 562
Sold out......again
Bullsitter Is this your coin? That is a nice one.
.
I wish, but no.
Aren't this year's P & D Lincoln cents the lowest business strike mintage ever?
Anyone think these would be sleeper down the road?
Yes, they are the lowest business strike mintage every.
No, they are not a sleeper. Everyone already knows about them as evidenced by the 10 pages of this thread and the eBay price action.

Well, I'm single-handedly driving the price down on ebay. Lol. I'm at $159.

Did you take delivery of all of your order in the end?
The last group just flipped to processing. But, yes. That's why I'm undercutting everyone on the price. Lol. I net $14 or $15 each at that number. I'm hoping to move them quickly, hopefully in multiple.

I have been watching these sets for longevity, with an eye on the Fall sets.
These have not come back in the AM since the sellout of that large lot we watched last week.
Smart move. hope you unload all of them.

did you sell your 9 yet ? Lol
It's always a gamble. I do, however, feel there's a floor with these because of the cents.

645 up for grabs this morning
Of course.

I received 5 sets yesterday. Opened one, it looks nice.
I am not going to sell them, presents for the kids down the road.
