Type sets send you outside your usual territory, sometimes.
Stay numismatic, my friends.

Kennedy halves typically bore the snot outta me, but I needed a type coin and it’s from my birthyear.

A beauty for sure!!
Way cool choice 👍
I understand completely. I got a nice ‘64 proof, raw, and stuffed it in the album without even taking a picture. It’s a really nice coin, but I can’t seem to care about it.
nice Lorn M

Let me know if you want me to send you the actual full size video with sound and I’ll figure out a way to send it to you so you can post anywhere that allows bigger files to be posted 🙃

Very nice!
There's a warm spot in many of our hearts for the Kennedy half. It's pretty much how I got started in collecting back in 64. Riding on my bike to the nearest bank, with 50 penny's in my pocket and asking for a Kennedy half dollar!
I remember obtaining my first Kennedy half as well as I remember where I was and what I was doing when I learned that John Fitzgerald Kennedy, 35th president of the United States, died of the gunshot wounds he suffered that day, November 22, 1963.
Aristotle said, “No democracy can exist unless each of its citizens is as capable of outrage at injustice to another as he is of outrage at injustice to himself.”
Nice coin , but I am surprised it received a Cameo designation. The fields, from the photo, lack the required mirrored appearance..
Without going into exactly how old I am, I will share that if I bought a birth year half dollar, it would feature Ben Franklin, not JFK. Nice coin, @lordmarcovan !
I will add: I love to do coin roll hunting with my grandkids on half dollar boxes. Silver, proofs, NIFCs, etc... all can be found and it's a joy to see the kids find'em before I do.
My hobby website Groovycoins.com, new and improved!
I know exactly where you were and what you were doing. If you lived on the east coast, I'm going to say you were in class (elementary school) just like me when we all learned President Kennedy was shot. I remember the teachers crying. They released us early from school that day.
Reckon we’ll see. I do not have it in hand yet. Maybe I’ll make an animated GIF when it is.

Thanks. I actually like the silent, animated GIF with subtitles, but if you made a video with sound, that explains why his lips sync perfectly with the dialogue.

My type examples are all business strikes, so nowhere near that nice, but I’m the same. I only have my type examples.

Don't mean to hijack your thread @lordmarcovan - @mr1931S and I are just comparing historical notes.
Kennedy halves need love, too!
That’s a beauty!!
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Totally agree with you, the Kennedy half does nothing for me and I could never see myself collecting the series. I have one lower level slabbed and raw for type sets plus those in various mint and proof sets, would never buy another one.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Loving that 1969 bill.
Ouch.
A harsh assessment of a popular series among collectors.
Respect for having it.
(Just hurts a bit reading it.)
My favorite 1965. Probably a few grades away from @lordmarcovan 's
The glass half full side is that you will not have to worry about any competition from me for them.

@braddick - wow, that one is totally cool looking- and so is the 1966 next to it!
I actually like those.
