1946-D Roosevelt Dime RPM FS-503 - What Do You Think? (I see a D over S, but no such listing...yet)

I am gathering a few coins to send in for Variety Attribution and I am wanting to see if the forumites are seeing what I am seeing. I believe that I see a "S" under the "D", but after looking around some, it appears to be more of a RPM FS-503 than an over mintmark. What do you think?

I see a little S in there, but I don’t know about these varieties and I definitely wouldn’t have seen what looks like an S in there if it was in my collection (or just using my eyes and a loupe).
I wouldn't hang my hat on an "S" under the "D", at least from that photo. If it was an "S", most of it appears to have been polished away before the "D" was punched.
I've reviewed the information on the 1946-D/D FS-503 from several sources, and it's a nightmare. There appears to be real confusion about what this variety is. There is supposed to be a partial "D" remnant to the south of the primary "D", which neither your coin or the CoinFacts example appears to show. Incidentally, varietyvista.com has been down for several weeks now. Will it return? I hope so. It is much needed in a case like this, where there are reportedly 30+ RPMs recorded for the date.

Mine does appear to be repunched to the North, similarly to the Variety Vista image, but there are quite a few RMP's for 1946-D. I guess we'll see what the attributors think.

I don't see anything from your pictures, so I'll give myself the benefit of the doubt and say "no." Even if there were a D/S there, you'd have to get it confirmed by James Wiles before it would get a VarietyVista number, then it would have to be added to the CPG to get an FS number before PCGS would touch it.
Lots of RPMs for 1946. Use the mint mark position to help, too.

I think you have a minor die chip as I see no match for FS 503.
