NBNC vs. T&P

I subscribed a few years ago to both the National Bank Note Census (NBNC) and Track & Price (T&P) for researching National Bank Notes. T&P is coming up for renewal, and I'm wondering if it's worth it. NBNC seems to have more complete data, and they announce updates pretty frequently.

So, if all I am interested in is NBNs, is there some value add for having T&P and NBNC as opposed to just NBNC?

    i subscribe to both for different reasons. as u mentioned, NBNC does seem to be better on the data side of things , with superior sorting and searching capabilities. TP seens to have easier pricing (auction) layouts, and more current pricing as well , though many will complain. Then again, a large portion of auctions are happening at HA which has free access to their past solds.

    I agree with the above comments as I also subscribe to both. It depends on what you are using it for. Say, if you want to know how many 1875 $100s are reported for all banks, NBNC is the way to go. On the other hand, I find searching for auction results much easier with T&P. However, on very rare banks, I count on NBNC because I find too many duplicate, or erroneous, listings in T&P. I also don't worry about T&P's Valuations - you're better off just going through the Heritage auction archives for accurate pricing information. On other hand, it's always amusing to look at T&P to see an auction result from Heritage and then find the same note listed on FleaBag two months later for three times the price.

    I hear you. I'm watching a NBN that was listed last December on eBay for $900. It sold at Heritage for $450 four months earlier!

    Back then, I asked the seller for his best price, and he said $875. LOL. That's 3% off. And guess what: It's still listed for sale nearly a year later.
