Another crack-out for the album - but disappointing
I cracked this 1937 out of an ANACS holder tonight. I accidentally put it in the 1939 hole (pictured); however even in the 1937 hole it doesn’t fit snugly, the coin diameter is smaller than the album hole, so it slides around, disappointing.

Dansco didnt adjust for the 30mm receded edge coins in their album. I get it from a manufacturing and cost standpoint, but it would be nice if you could purchase a customized board to replace the existing one
.
I made the pic too small, sorry - I’ll eventually get to photography. There’s some peripheral blue toning on both sides, won’t blow you away, but a bit more than subtle

As soon as I noticed it was a Reeded Edge half I knew what the issue would be. These coins are just a tiny bit smaller, but as you note Dansco did not always adjust the size for their placement.

Does it matter that the hole pictured is 1839 and not 1939 as stated?
This is an extremely common problem with albums that accommodate early coins. One of our club members owns an astonishingly nice type set housed in a pair of Whitman albums. Not only has he had to shim several pieces, he has also had to very carefully increase the diameter of a few of the holes. And on top of that, tiny coins like the 3-cents and half-dimes tend to want to slide out of their accommodations and get between the cardboard and paper surfaces.
I myself had a bust half-dollar set in your same Dansco and have had the same struggles.

Can you explore whether some type of ring could be made to secure the coin? It may look perfect, but something might be crafted to be functional.

I feel your pain.
Even before Dansco was "Dansco" they built a Continental Line of Type Set albums and even then didn't get the sizing correct:
You would think in the last 60 years they could have improved/corrected this error.
If you have an old Kointain, it might help keep it from sliding around.

That is the very first issue I address when designing a new album. Half cents, large cents, bust coinage, and especially any and all world coinage must be measured first for the roght size ports. The machine I use can mix and match a variety of sizes and shapes to get the right results.
