Looking for a numismatic writer for educational articles — where should I look?

**Hi all — I run a small licensed coin and jewelry shop and we publish educational articles for the general public (things like "what determines a Morgan dollar's value," "why you should never clean coins," "how melt value works"). Our founder has a wholesale background (formerly at Stack's Bowers) and reviews everything for accuracy, but we'd like to work with a writer who genuinely knows numismatics to help us produce more.

I'm NOT trying to advertise here — I'm asking for direction. A few questions for people who know this world better than I do:

  1. Is the Numismatic Literary Guild the right place to find working numismatic writers, or is it more of an awards organization?
  2. Are there writers here or at publications like CoinWeek who take on freelance educational work for dealers?
  3. Any other places you'd look for someone who can write accurately about coins for a non-collector audience?

    These days, you could probably just ask each question in google search and get back a fairly accurate AI answer. Maybe too short for what you had in mind, but you could ask a longer and more detailed question to extend the answer length.

    I would use an actual LLM rather than "Google search". Especially if they are going to proofread it, you can really generate very good content in a consistent style determined by the human user.

    You can also use the LLM to generate ideas for articles, provide illustrations, etc

    Just be careful with copyright, intellectual property, usage rights, and plagiarism. For your own protection, and for the integrity of your brand, I would recommend hiring a talented and experienced human writer over using AI.

    There are a lot of numismatists on this forum who could do the writing you’re asking for.
    Would this be contract work on a per-piece basis?
    Would the author get credited?
    Who owns the copyright?
    What would this work pay?

    30+ years coin shop experience (ret.) Coins, bullion, currency, scrap & interesting folks. Loved every minute!
