If you’re not watching PCA regularly you’re missing out. I watch every game. Except today. Verizon outage killed my vibe. We can’t even get an Amazon delivery. 😭

Not only is PCA challenging Shohei for the title of MVP, he’s doing so by delivering in key moments of games, and in every way possible. If there was a more descriptive term for him than 5-tool guy, it would be his alone. I enjoyed the year Javy Baez went toe-to-toe with Christian Yelich for the honors. This seems like one of those years with 2 amazing guys playing “Who can top this”? PCA will be in the game, every play, every day.

Really pretty simple, put Ohtani in CF for the fly ball pitching staff Cubs, Ohtani catches 98% of the fly ball outs that PCA has.....put PCA on the mound for 14 starts and 85 IP for LA and this exercise is over.

PCA also had a few miscues that the defensive measures don't even account for, like the missed routine fly ball that turned into a home run, evening out the few extreme plays he got to that Ohtani 'may' have not gotten to if playing CF for them.

This argument is the silliest yet. LMAO. There's no comparison. They do different things very well. To suggest that Ohtani catch fly balls and PCA pitch is ridiculous. Ohtani would not get to a lot of those fly balls. Let's stick to the facts, ok? Each of them is having an incredible season. PCA hasn't turned any fly balls into home runs. Where did that come from? He's made a few crappy errors. Hell hath come whenever he f's up cuz everybody wants to jump on the bandwagon to cut him down. How many garbage breaking balls does Ohtani swing at and miss? Measure the facts. They are probably DEAD EVEN right now in the MVP race and the final 6 weeks of the season should be fun to watch.

By the way, when PCA was a junior baseball star traveling around the country with so many other current baseball stars like Skenes, Witt Jr., etc. guess what he did? He was a pitcher!

Add to that the unwritten metric of PCA playing half of his games at Wrigley Field, which is a huge challenge for any outfielder. I've seen him make several catches this season that nobody else even comes close.

I think the best part of all this is how each player shows qualities of leadership, originating from the leadoff position in the batting order. Ohtani was already anointed and placed in that spot long ago. PCA needed a place to thrive and his manager decided being the first guy to hit would do it. He was right.

Again, all consideration now has to play out for the rest of the season. As far as I'm concerned they're neck and neck for MVP. Go PCA Go!

Another night of PCA homers and unreliable pitching. At this point, it's obvious the Cubs ain't going nowhere else but Wild Card Land, just where will they play? At home? Philly? Arizona? San Diego? Hell?

As so many past MLB managers have mused, you just gotta get in. Anything can happen. And it will.

There’s been a few plays this season which caused me to wonder if they should have asked for a review. It happens to all teams. The hesitance happens if the coaches aren’t positive they’ll get a call reversed and it could be early in the game. They wouldn’t want to lose a challenge they might need later. They only get a few seconds to decide. It’s like being on a rapid fire game show. Get it wrong and you’re screwed.
