Albums with coins within, listed under albums/folders only.
Sometimes full or even partial sets of common silver dimes can be located for 20% of spot.
A lot of flea market type sellers list coins this way.
A good deal on what? You said on your other thread that you were searching all the time, but not finding any varieties. Then you got upset for some reason.
There's a very straightforward recipe for success on eBay:
1) Learn some specialty better than anyone else
2) Answer your own question
Executing on that recipe is harder.
Yes, the execution is a problem in this case. On his previous thread, I pointed out that the 1970 and 1970-D FS-901 dimes would be perfect for him to search for, but he didn't show any interest in following through.
That prolly has sumpin to do with why I blocked you !

I always look and usually they come to me. Latest pick 1883/2 shield nickel in xf-au buy it now 120.00. Coin lists on PCGS as 900 XF and 1350 AU. Coin is safely in hand and soon to be headed for grading. If you only concentrate on certain things coins like this appear now and then. I spend 2-3 hours a night looking on Ebay. The cherrypicks are out there. I usually narrow my looking to high VF and up only. Good luck to all. I think there are plenty for everybody out there.
They really need to expand the number of available ignores.

I thought cherry-picking was about finding bargains, not necessarily acquiring items of interest.

Sure. But ALL bargains or just bargains in your area of interest.
If I told you that you could cherry pick comic books on ebay, would you automatically go do it? Or, would you respond that you aren't interested in looking through a bunch of comic books?
If Mach19 isn't interested in 1970 dimes, why does he have to go look for them just because IkesT told him he could find them?

Bargains? No, I don't think so. Not in the numismatic community. But I guess it could mean whatever you want it to mean. Although, if you find a rare one it could be a bargain. You've been around here long enough. You know it means this:
As far as I know, cherry-picking is done for two reasons. One of them is to look for scarce/rare die varieties for their collections. And the other is to buy such coins to flip. But in each case, it’s an effort to obtain a scarcer/more valuable coin at a common variety price. I call that bargain hunting. You’re free to call it whatever you want.

One thing I’ve noticed lately is the artificial toning being applied to so many coins. Saw a beautiful ‘toned’ Morgan that caught my eye….(is even a coin dealer to boot) and then when to look at the sellers ‘other items’ and practically every Morgan he had for sale had the same toning colors and appearance. Ugh….
There are some here afraid to share their information... 🤣 Thinking we might be stealing their ideas or stealing from them! 🤣 😂 We are a very very small community here, compared to the vast overwhelming population and majority of this country. They don't even know we exist or know what we're doing here. We should be supporting each other and sharing the information.
If you're lucky enough to see any of these (or real mint errors) through the crap pictures most eBay'ers post, you might get lucky.
Quality investment grade ,PQ material: Walkers, Dollars, Classic Commems. MS 64 or higher.
Key dates other areas - but bidding very competitive. No free ride in numismatics lol.
Many types players chasing these. Was bidding on a 1926-s Dime bidders bid it up at least 2x CDN bid. Lost out on that one.
Also sets of modern Memorial cents. Some of these in the older Whitman folders go for only a few dollars. Some will also contain the 1970-S small date. That cent alone in MS63 or better is many times worth more than the cost of the set offered.
Morgan and Peace dollars for the VAM. Ebay picture quality quite often doesn't allow it. The Cherry Pickers guide doesn't interest me.
