Is there any value in unsearched rolls of Jeff Nickels?
I'm not sure if there's a huge collector base but I'm making room for other stuff and want to know if it's worth my while to try to sell these on ebay... other venue?... two rolls of 1967 a single roll of 1960... guessing they're both Philadelphia mintage...

Either that or @cladking.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
I have for at least two decades been stockpiling a huge cardboard box of unsearched (by me) rolls of Jefferson nickels. Someday when (if?!) I get top retire, I am going to find time to search through them.

Unsearched? Ask cladking- he'll tell you that he knows what's in them.
Well, at least not searched by me... lol. I got these from my brother. He might have searched them back in the 60s.

Buyer pays for shipping.
Put them up for auction with a .99 opening bid and be sure to indicate the shipping fee and see where that goes. Eventually, the bidder(s) will set the price.

Are you kidding me? Most buyers on eBay (besides us) have no idea what they are worth. Start the bidding high or start the bidding low. Start a bidding war. The seller has nothing to lose.
Fine, do it your way.
You're just a hypothetical kinda guy. Thank you for the feedback.
Search the 1967s for full steps (not likely) and MS67 grade (not likely).

The value comes from what could be inside. Unfortunately with Jefferson Nickels and not hiaving them all from a known year to know what's possible, I don't think anyone will pay a premium.
Last year I went through a case of nickels from the bank. 2000 nickels. There was nothing of interest.
Just to clarify, are these solid date uncirculated coins?
In any case, Cladking has already assured us that such things don't exist because no one saved or collected them back then, and as a result the prices are creeping up today because no one collects them but if they did there is no way for dealers to replace the ones that are sold. 😵💫
But on ebay you never know. Someone might have a specific need for a quantity of those dates.
I agree that these have been opened and searched before, by whom and for what is unknown. As they have been searched before I would put them on ebay at $20 a roll free shipping. If they don't sell I'd open them and search for a full step or ultra gem prospect, Coinstar the rest.

see what you can find in gem fs and spend the rest
The '60 roll is very common and the only interest wo0uld be to search for Gems.
The '67 rolls have no demand and are worth $8 each anyway so you know they are tough rolls.
The problem is these rolls all look alike and there are rarely Gems. The few people who want them may be reluctant to buy because of postage. Unless it's easy to try to sell them it's probably not worth the effort. It might be wisest to either search them for Gems and varieties yourself or stash them for another few years. Or just spend them and never know.
Probably by those limiting their searches to Free Shipping. They "know" they are saving money that way. Some people just need to feel like they are getting a better deal without regard to reality. Similar to buyers who think auction Buyers Fees cost them extra money.
Once had a collector look at a not-rare raw coin I had net priced in my case and would not come down. They kept trying and finally passed. I sold it to another dealer at the same show for that price. The same collector bought it at the same show from that dealer when they came down from their by then higher price. They were sure they got a better deal than the one from me and said so. It was pointless to attempt mentioning anything to them other than something like "That's great".

Well, there might be war nickels in there those have some silver they’re probably worth $2.50 each if that matters to anybody

The mint made silver war nickels in 1960 and 1967?

Oh man, I missed that you’re right they didn’t

All kinds of things get made in the mint. Some of them are not intentional.
I sold a group of unsearched penny and nickel rolls on the BST from the 60’s and probably lost money on the deal because I screwed up calculating the postage. There was very little interest and it was a royal PIA packing the rolls securely and then having to make a trip to the post office. I would have been better off spending them but hopefully I made the buyer happy.
I listed a group of statehood quarters on the BST back when they were still a thing and greysheet bid was $20-$40 per roll. The best offer I got would have netted me less than face value after accounting for cost of postage.
People love to search rolls but they hate to pay above face for most of them.
If you did list them on Ebay, I would 100% not us the word unsearched with uncrimped ends looking like that. You are asking for trouble for very little monetary gain. You would probably get a SNAD and have to pay for return postage.
Thanks, everyone. I'm culling through extra stuff to sell, or just get rid of, to free up some space. Coin rolls are one of those things that take up room while, in most cases, only containing face-value coins.
I'm keeping a few rolls of Wheat Cents in case I ever have grandchildren who might catch the collecting bug. Beyond that, I think I'll hang on to just the roll of 1960s nickels and Coinstar the rest. I've never really been a Jefferson nickel fan, but going through a roll looking for Full Steps coins might provide an afternoon's entertainment in retirement a few years from now... lol.

1960 had "bar' nickels I believe they were called. Excess metal from the top of the date to the rim. A minor flaw. Some other 60's dates had this flaw as well.
Yes, these are mostly on the Denver issues. I've collected them since 1960 and have ~100 different mostly from circulation and some from singles and rolls. You can't imagine my surprise when Variety Vista listed them;

Save them now. They are worth 7.4 cents melt value.

I would think they have been picked over.
Patience is a virtue.
Remember with how high inflation is, they could be very valuable as washers.

I have a few rolls of the 2009 Denver nickels I'm holding on to . Dunno if this is relevant to this thread or not ?
So long as you understand that, by then, you won't be able to see the mintmark.
Ask me how I know.
Got some buried in my collection. Found roll searching way back when.
I knew they were kindda "popular" back in the '60's but had believed everyone forgot about them.
I've learned a lot about coin production and distribution from them. They are interesting.
When you're rich enough. Some of us can barely save a nickel at a time.

Better yet, when they're discontinued, drill a hole and sell them as washers.

I think I posted this before. The only example I'm aware of that shows a complete strike with steps.

I would search the rolls for an example resembling the one above. If no luck, reroll the coins back into the original paper and sell at a loss or give them away so some other enthusiastic young numis. can carry out their adventure of what's inside......keeping coin collecting fun for others! And hopefully he or she will remember to pass them along..... But sadly, someone won't bother doing the right thing for the hobby and destroy that piece of history, the lure and the excitement of searching through coin rolls.
