Is this a DDO 1957 Proof Roosevelt Dime?

Just picked this up as an upgrade and I think it is a DDO FS-101! Do you all agree?
PCGS census shows there are no CAM or DCAM DDOs, mine would be the first.

Also for what it's worth - it is much easier to get a top pop variety when you have this situation and you reholder. The grade is guaranteed, so they will have to give you the 68DCAM when they give you the variety.

If you do it the other way around and submit raw and include the variety attribution, history shows that you usually get much lower grades. For a coin like this you'd probably get a PR67 grade.

Oh, no question. The coin is likely maxed out. I can't judge whether it deserves a plus or 69 but it's unlikely, so regrade and recon are wasted money. Best to do reholder but reconsideration would also be an option if I thought it would upgrade.

I've also experienced this phenomenon. Sending in the same coin to be reholdered/attributed immediately after it getting it back from grading gets old (and expensive) fast.

You have to play the game unfortunately. For whatever reason, it seems as though graders are less inclined to give grades out when they realize the grade would result in a top pop. Varieties seem to have a higher frequency of this issue.

"Stacking" the submission can fix this problem for more common coins, and is how the MS69 1919 cents were made.

Any ideas what I should insure this for? Price Guide without DDO is $500. I have no idea what market value might be as even the non-DCAM DDOs are so few and rare there's no transaction data, I don't have any idea how desirable this variety is.

Take a look at the proof Roosie variety Registry Sets to see who has these sets and how many sets contain this variety.

PM those collectors with your questions. Maybe you will find a willing buyer.
