Need a little help with Double Die and Machine Doubling.

    The areas you are pointing to are not doubled at all; you're just seeing artifacts from the lighting.

    People here can recommend the best avenue for sending it off to have it evaluated.

    Everything you have pointed out is either die erosion or mechanical/machine doubling. I see no signs of true hub doubling.

    Your half right.
    The left side is Machine Doubling, the right side is also.

    FYI
    The correct term is Doubled Die.

    Things to look for on doubled dies:

    Collector, occasional seller

    Another thing to look for as an indicator that doubling light be MD: do the two parts of the lettering/design add up to the proper "normal" width or size? If the main and doubled sections equal a normal size when combined then it is likely MD.

    Yeah. But people like to think they are being funny, even though they are not only undermining one newbie but potentially misleading any other newbie who stumbles upon the thread.
