Two More Classic Commems Added to the Stable

With the addition of these two Boone commemoratives, my Classic commemorative series is now at the 50 member mark.
The 1936-D has a lower mintage of around 5,000 pieces produced and sold.
The 1938-S is tied for the second lowest mintage of only 2,100 coins.
It seems that at that point in time,( the late ‘30’s), the commemoratives were “all played out”, resulting in the lower mintages.

Attractive coins. I believe starting in either 1936 or 37, Stacks was a distributor for the Boone set. And the set was offered in a presentation case with the Stacks name on an insert card within the black case. I suspect the case is highly sought after… not sure about the surviving population of these.

Part of the fun of Commem issues is obtaining either the presentation case or however certain issues were distributed through either banks or by whoever was the primary distributor

Edited to change error… Stacks was a distributor for the Arkansas set in 1937… I misspoke about the Boone Set

Congrats. Those Boone's have such low mintage. Not the easiest to find.

And not an extremely popular series as Texas or Oregon, but had a long run from 1934-1938.
