I’ve got one more baseball bet today and then I’m not betting on bb again until Monday. I need a break. I’ve been doing great but it’s mentally draining having to cash out so often. I am making a pga bet so I will post that later.

I just looked and the Phillies were -180 favorites on the road. That as we know is a very strong favorite in MLB. Phillies jump out to a 6-0 lead by the top of the fifth, and ya gotta figure the game is over.

Nice job wrapping up a winning bet with that wagering choice.

I'm still on the sidelines and probably will be until the NFL season begins. However I have been playing around on paper with a MLB system, and began testing it on Monday. I hit the first three games and was thinking I may have discovered a gold mine. But sure as green apples, I lose the next four bets. Still showing a slight profit, so maybe I discovered a copper mine. 😂

BTW, I realize since it is on paper, that there are no profit boosts included in the win totals. So I remain optimistic despite the four straight losses. I'll keep trying it until it winds-up getting buried in the large graveyard of losing sports betting systems.

Broke the four game losing streak, hit the Angels game.

Total for 8 games played, $10 fictional bet on each game, net profit $17.74
But no profit boosts on any of that, so the bookie bet profit would have been higher.

I'll keep trying it to around 20 or 25 MLB games. If it continues to show a profit, well then it's back to real coin with the book.

I didn’t bet on it but I watched it. Here’s the sick part… Noah Cameron started and pitched a one hitter through eight innings. Then Q-ball brought in Erceg for the ninth to load the bases… then asked for a volunteer to give up the slam and one of the relievers pushed Strahm forward and Suzy Q said okay get in there and take one for the team. I called for Erceg to be run out of town on a boxcar a long time ago but nobody listens to me what the hell do I know. Strahm looks like a hobo so he can go with Erceg and show him the ropes of being a full time bum.
    Yeah I wasn’t pissed or anything. 🤬🤬

And it was Roger Clemens son who hit the grand salami.

What really ticks me off is the Royals should have swept the Twins but lost two of three because nobody can close out a game. Our usual save blower Alex Lange wasn’t available to blow this one because he had already blown 2 in like the last 5 games.
The Royals would actually have a really good record after the all star break if they had somebody except clown school dropouts for relief pitchers.

  • Options
    stevekstevek Posts: 32,472 ✭✭✭✭✭

+5000 on the Twins, and I'd be sure there was no line offered on the Royals at that moment. Not even one cent on the dollar for a "sure thing."

what that graphic fails to show is, Minnesota had 0-2 counts THE LAST THREE BATTERS

you just know there is someone out there who unloaded some serious bacon on KC.......and now they're in dire need of professional help

    what an utterly horrific beat

  • Options
    stevekstevek Posts: 32,472 ✭✭✭✭✭

Coincidentally, there happens to be a game going on right now with that same +5000 ML scenario. You can see the book locked out wagering on the Dodgers, and I think the Mariners have a better chance of coming back in this game, than the Twins did at that moment.

Looks like it was a tough pitch to hit. That being said, as a MLB pitcher, in that situation, you simply can't throw a strike. You've got to throw one or two out of the strike zone and hope the batter chases it. Chances are he will.

I realize I'm nitpicking a bit, but that's what ya really gotta do.

No it wasn’t a tough pitch to hit…. trust me I was watching. It was 0-2 and a fastball grooved down the middle.
You’re not nitpicking you’re exactly right. You try to get the hitter to chase the next 2-3 pitches.
Really frustrating being a Royals fan. 8-5 after the break and I’m not kidding when I say they should be minimum of11-2. Maybe even 12-1 it’s hard to keep track of all the blown leads.
As far as the gambling part I would have won if I bet on KC. I would have cashed out after 8 knowing Noah was out of the game. That’s how bad our relief pitchers are.

  • Options
    stevekstevek Posts: 32,472 ✭✭✭✭✭

I've observed this crap all season. Not only from pitchers, but from batters, not playing fundamentally sound baseball. Stuff you learn in Little League.

I've seen some batters, in the ninth, behind in the score, runners on base, with say a 2-0 or 3-0 count. Instead of forcing the pitcher to throw a strike, the idiot swings and grounds into a game ending double play. They'd rather wish to add to their stats, than do the right thing and try to get a walk, to better help their team win the game.

It sure is aggravating when you're sitting there saying to the batter, now just take the next dam pitch, and the dope does as mentioned, and your wagered money goes down the drain.

    Good job on Hideki!
Cut line is supposed to be-3 and Koivun is in at -4 so I guess I’m good! 🥳
I like your bb bet.. two good pitchers so hopefully you’re good on the under and the Blue Jays win it. Good luck!

Galaxy nice win on the blue jays. After you posted that bet I put a small wager on a first inning shutout on that game so thanks for the heads up that they both had a high quality starter pitching.

Actually 3 of them, 2 went real heavy while one went in for $400

Brutal game, I looked at it and it just didn't make sense that they were that high on the Dodgers

Ranger Suarez is one of their best pitchers going against a bullpen platoon start for the Dodgers, idk there were too many red flags but once those guys commit it's usually a full send

    @Darin

thanks. glad you hit in the 1st inning. i know very little to nothing about the MLB outside of the Cardinals, and that's only because of my dad. they have been terrible since the All-Star break. they can't hit and they've got a bunch of triple-A relievers. last night in the 8th they had a dude come in and he walked the first two guys. they yanked him, stuck another guy in who walked the next guy (bases now loaded), then promptly gave up a 2-run single. but they did have a solid starter going, hence me taking the under with the Jays.

that's the good news. the bad news is that i'm getting very frustrated with what's going on across the pond. had all 4 of my girls make the cut, and three of them were within top-5 striking distance heading into the weekend (T6, T6, T14). just needed one to nuke it the next two days, and to this point not one of them is doing so.

sorry about your buddies, but those were very ballsy wagers against a team that has won 21 out of 24. the Sox have been white hot and their confidence has to be through the roof right now. i wish they had had an off night for the sake of your friends, but that's like stepping in front of a locomotive right now. i'm glad you held off.

Dodgers ML was -137 before the game yesterday when they got badly beat. For tonight's game, they're getting money, now at -170.

The Red Sox road record is amazing. Considering their home record.

BTW - the Dodgers are -185 for tonight's game. I'd have to guess the big boys are martingaling it. Figuring the defending champs Dodgers, can't possibly lose three straight at home to any team.

The Dodgers are always favorites no matter who is pitching. I might take the Red Sox tonight. I bet the Dodgers yesterday but it was a two team parlay with the Guardians and they had already lost so I was glad the Sox beat them. Bad day for me yesterday at baseball so hoping to make up for it today.

Galaxy I missed your post this morning. That sucks I really thought at least one of them would go top 5. 😩
DK offered a weird prop bet. Bet $20 on any player in the Red Sox- Dodgers game to hit a home run and get a $10 bonus bet for every home run in the game. Apparently your player doesn’t have to homer to get the bonus. 🤔

Never saw one like that before. Seems like the odds are in your favor. Of course you'd need two home runs in the game to sort of break even. I say "sort of" because with a bonus bet, you only win the profit on the bet, the book keeps the bonus bet amount even if you win the bet.

So hit the two homers, then you've got sort of a free-roll going on the player you choose. I think ya gotta play it, and good luck if you do. It's so important to milk those bookie comps every chance ya get
