I think I’m staying away from baseball today. I said I wasn’t going to bet on golf again but after yesterday’s round Sam Burns was up by 2 shots so I bet on him to win. Also I have a live profit boost for the World Cup so right after it starts today I’m betting on Spain.

Perkdog…. I looked over today’s games last night and I saw Sonny Gray is pitching for the Sox. Thought I would bet on them but then noticed the Rays have a quality pitcher going today also. Decided to just skip it but I do still like the Red Sox today but knowing my luck if I bet on them that would be the end of their winning streak.😩

I looked at it and was thinking of the Rays since they are due for a win but the Sox are unbeatable right now
I might stick with some player props for Dodgers or take the White Sox money line if I bet today
At the start of July, I was invited to participate in the beta testing for the new FanDuel rewards program that they're looking to implement. It takes 8,000 points in a month to unlock level 3, which is then your status for the remainder of the month and then all of the next month.
.
.
I needed only a few more points to get there, and was excited to find this bet in the wee hours of the morning. I should be at level 3 tomorrow once this bet settles.
No Runs In The First Inning bets often have mismatched odds like this for arbitrage betting. I just want to show you what is possible if you look in the right places.
.
.
Guaranteed money is the best money, and I may or may not have wagered additional amounts on this play before the odds righted themselves and tightened up. A win is a win is a win.
Well I was getting a bit sloppy in the wagering. Some undisciplined chit on the stinking WNBA for example. Some bad beats in MLB, etc. I got hissed at myself, and decided for now to cash out. Probably will take the rest of the summer off.
So from the $100 deposit made $280.37 profit. Was I happy with that? Considering all the time I put in, and had reached a bankroll high of $436 recently, I absolutely am not happy with that. Although I must admit, I do enjoy the banter in this thread. So that counts for something.
I do plan on coming back starting football season. Take a breather, and let my head clear of handicapping BS for a while. I had mentioned this before, I did just begin a new business project, so I do want to place all my free time into that, and get it off the ground. I already know it's gonna make money, just a question of how much. Might be mansion buying money, or could be only enough for some groceries. We shall see.
In the meantime, good luck to everyone. Hope I see some pics of your new Maserati, bought from a nice score. 😊
Ryan Fox won The Open today. If you don't follow golf and have never once heard that name before, that's completely normal. If you're wondering what his odds were prior to the tournament, you're in luck. I have them.
+15000
If someone had come up to me prior to the first round and said, "You know, galaxy, you seem like an acceptable human being. I'd like to stick $5 on Ryan Fox to win The Open and hand it to you."
Know what I would have said?
"First of all, how drunk are you, and second, I can't with a clear conscience allow you to waste a gallon of gas on me."
Here are Fox's results since the beginning of May. No missed cuts, which is a good thing. But he only sniffed the top once. One top 20 in 8 attempts. Then, voila.
I personally went 1-for-5 with my wagers. Know what batting .200 will get you in the majors? A new profession, sooner rather than later.
I have amended stevek's line from "Sports betting -- tough way to make a living" to "Golf betting -- great way to take residence underneath the nearest overpass."
With yesterday's play, I passed the 8,000 point mark on FanDuel, with ease. The weekly offers for hitting level 3 were revealed to me today.
.
.
In my opinion, clearly the only option worth considering is the daily 30% profit boost. I will maintain level 3 through the month of August, and of I can earn 8,000 points again in August, then it will extend another month through September, etc. The next level requires 28,000 points in a month, and I'm not sure August has enough things going on to make that feasible, but I may try for that level in September with football and pennant races.
No word yet on when FanDuel plans to roll this program out for the masses, or if the parameters and rewards will have been tweaked by then.
TheScore has been my go to app for some time. They usually offer a weekly 20% deposit match, up to $500 for a $100 Penn Play bonus on Mondays.
The best thing about their Penn Play bonus vs the other apps is that you receive not only the winnings, but also the wagered amount of Penn Play back in cash.
So if you find an arbitrage bet to use it on, it's like getting a free $100 cash in your bank account every week. You do have to play the original $500 deposit through before you can withdraw the money, but that level of play has never been an issue for me.
.
.
Another thing that I like about theScore is that they run a playmakers promotion nearly every Tuesday for whatever sport is in season. First it was NFL, then NBA, and now MLB.
You have to bet a cumulative $250 on that sport within the time frame, and then they'll give you a $50 bonus bet. The only drawback is that in this instance, it's actually a bonus bet, so you only get the winnings from the wager, not the wager amount.
I have a method that converts bonus bets into roughly 70% payback, risk free, so that's roughly another $35 a week from theScore going into my bank account.
This past Tuesday, they threw in an All-Star bonus, bet $50 get $10, and that wagered $50 counted twice, applied to both promotions, so I only needed an additional $200 in action to qualify for the $50. That's another $7 that eventually ended up in my bank account just for opting in that.

Make sure ya bring plenty of earplugs. 😐
I could be wrong on this, but I think on most PGA tour winner odds, the bets usually max out at +15000 on the long shots before the tourney begins. Again, I may be wrong on this, depending on any particular tourney.
In any event, the point is, at these long shot odds, if it does max out at +15000, I'd guess that the book is probably grabbing around 40% juice, maybe higher, on these long shots. And why not? If a gambler likes a long shot, I'd say he's just as likely to play it at +15000 as he would at +20000. So why offer them the +20000? Then when it hits once in a blue moon, the book only has to pay out +15000.
BTW - 25% juice is about what a casino grabs on each Big Wheel bet. You might get better odds playing the Big Wheel at a casino, than playing golf long shots. LOL
Glad I decided to refrain for now. I made some quick "paper bets" over the weekend and would have gotten crushed using real money. When you're ice cold, and you see the avalanche coming, best move is to get out of the way. 😉
I can't hit a MLB game at all, I might get back in the fray today we shall see
I’ve had good luck lately with baseball. Hit a few 2 team parlays and have done well with these under 0.5 runs in first inning bets. Today the yanks- Phillies have Schlitter and Luzardo going so I’m doing the 1st inning shutout and Skubal pitching for Tigers so they should beat KC easily.

I had a good day yesterday… 3 wins and 1 loss. Schlitter and Luzardo pitched great, easy win there with a 1st inning shutout. Had the Tigers and Rays in a parlay and Detroit barely squeaked out a win.
Today Dylan Cease against Sonny Gray so I like that for a 1st inning shutout and maybe the Pirates with Skenes pitching.
It’s crazy but the Red Sox could still win their division. And the really crazy thing… before they got hot with the winning streak I’m pretty sure they were +25000 to win their division. Now they’re 6.5 games back and closing fast. With over 2 months left to play they could pull it off. 😳
talked about this kid earlier this month. total beast in college. made his pro debut at the John Deere a few weeks ago. i hopped on him. he promptly missed the cut. then he went back to the results he had before i bet on him. T10 the following week, and today he has 3-shot lead going into the final round of the 3M Open.
instead of sticking with him, i do things like attempt a hail mary with a long shot who didn't even sniff the cut, let alone the top 20. story of my life with my golf bets on this thread -- timing is off, then that completely throws me for a loop. if this kid wins today, his prices will never be the same again.
i've got whiplash from zigging when i should have zagged, and vice versa. so incredibly frustrating
Perk… I had a two team parlay. Dodgers and Brewers and the Dodgers let me down also.
I’m thinking about betting on PCA to win NL MVP since Ohtani is shut down from pitching. Odds on PCA right now at DraftKings is +190.
All I have for tomorrow is a two team parlay Reds and Phillies.. Chase Burns and Zack Wheeler pitching.
Dodgers screwed me a number of times this season. I don't keep exact track of this, but I think I'm around 2-4 on Dodger's bets. But what infuriates me the most with them is on at least 3 of those losses, at one point they had the lead in the game. Two times it was late in the game they had the lead, and couldn't hold it. And each time as a favorite. 😒

I shouldn’t have bet on them yesterday. When I bet on a team it’s only when they have a top starter going. Except I broke that rule, LA had a mediocre pitcher starting but Soto of the Mets is on IL so I figured that was enough of an edge. What pisses me off is Miz and the brew crew were fantastic yesterday and I didn’t take advantage. I had to try to get more favorable odds so I threw LA in on a parlay. A better bet would have been Brewers moneyline and Miz over on strikeouts.
Live and learn. 😩
I got lucky again by cashing out of the Phillies game right before they self destructed in bottom of ninth.
Bases were loaded…. bottom of nine no outs Phillies still up 7-5 and I was recorded hitting the cash out button in a new record time of .00001 seconds.

Thanks perk. I also had the Phillies in a two team parlay with the Reds who got rained out. I cashed out of that one a bit earlier and actually made $3 on it. So instead of losing $90 I only lost $5 on the Phillies.
It gets tiring monitoring the games so closely so today im making small bets and just forgetting about them. I’ve already got $10 on a Reds, Tigers parlay. Big spender here! 🥳😁

$10 bets are all about fun, push the go button and let them fly!
That’s weird. I applied for my SS retirement benefits and that’s the exact date I’m supposed to get my first payment. It’s like the NFL is trying to tell me to blow it all on gambling. 😱

Will Scottie catch him? But he's running out of time.
I put this bet in last night. I liked the 3 shot lead, the odds, his composure and the fact that Scottie was 6 back starting today.

Well I can't hit the broad side of a barn with any MLB bet so I decided to try something different and of course it got utterly destroyed
