My latest side collection, raw and fun NEWPS!
Lately I’ve been buying raw 90% silver, the only theme is that it has to have good eye appeal, and look totally original (I know that is subjective) but so far this has been really fun, I will come back from time to time and update this thread.
Are you guys buying anything similar? If so, post it here!
I have other stuff, I started this about a month ago, but this is what I picked up today…
The only dark side is my signature lion shilling and six pence, otherwise everything else is US coins…

Love me some old 90% silver, the fact that you can get it at near spot is one of the great bargains in all of numismatics. Here's my stash, 36 pounds of it, in a proper vintage bank bag, like you'd see in an old heist movie. I culled it of any Roosevelts, Washingtons and Kennedys, so none of it looks like mere "change". Rock on!

Rock on!My parents were born in the late 1920's. They would have seen this change circa 1947. Maybe the late walkers would be a little less worn down.
I am really enjoying this picture!
It could be the beginning setting for a back in time story.

I have another dark, crusty original shilling coming in the mail, I’ll try to get it photographed, but, I had forgotten that I had taken pictures of these two, I got these a week or so back…
Everything is loose and in a Ziploc bag, I’m looking for a cool little box something either wooden or cardboard that will hold this little pile.
Waiting for a cool box, I guess I’ll know it when I see it 😆
Because some of these are older, I am definitely careful not tossing the stuff about since it’s all loose in the bag…
I’m kind of capping the coins at $100 or so, otherwise they’ll be in proper holders. But everything has to be original and have good eye appeal.

And then today, I added these, a fun little trio from 1934…
Fun comparison, it appears, that the top quarter is the light motto, and the bottom one is the medium motto however, on the reverse, it’s like they’re reversed, the light motto has a better strike on the back and the medium motto is a lot softer…
Do I have this information correct?

This appears to be a medium motto WQ. The heavy motto coin has the apex of the W going above the tops of all the letters, but this coin does not appear to have that feature.

There's something sweet about a great big ol' pile of raw circ silver. Especially if there are CircCams involved.
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

The light motto has historically been the most difficult. It just has to look like the 1932 and you know it's a light motto.
