Yes, agreed those lines that look like an attempt to reengrave the reverse with a Dremel is not a great idea.

It looks like someone did a very poor job of restoring details on both the obverse and reverse. Later, another collector tried to buff off the restoration on the obverse but gave up when he saw how bad it looked. He left the reverse as is.
Sad fate for a 1921.

Don’t know that one. My late first wife and I lived in da sout’ burbs and naturally were Sox fans. The only time I ever went to Wiggly Field was when I won two tickets to 8-8-88 from WGN. Still got the commemorative hat.

Genuine 1921-D dime, VF details, net value about the same as a typical AG-G coin.

Reminds me of the youtube video someone posted here a while ago with an interview with a dealer about one of his customers who tried to "improve" a rare gold coin. Anyone have a link to that? It was both tragic and hysterical.

That was damned stupid. Because of my polio I have trouble standing up from any seat lower than my walker, which I have the legs set high on. I even take it into restaurants if possible. This is one of the reasons why I have not been to a sporting event in years. Stadium seats are too damned low. The person in question may have his own difficulties.
I notice that when I watch sporting events on TV the announcers often say "Please rise, if you are able, for our National Anthem...." This is a good thing.
It was a younger, clearly able-bodied person. The vet told him his Vietnam story and to stand up or he'd whack him. Still a dumb thing to do, what with that being assault, but he later apologized, they enjoyed a beer and the game together, and security and the police saw there was no need to take action.
