So why doesn't the gold 1916 Standing Liberty Gold 1/4 ounce gold coin carry a "W" mintmark like the 1916 Gold Dime and Half do?

I had no interest in buying 1916 Topless 1/4 oz 24k 25c had the W mintmark been included.
