Is the silver shortage over?

Or is it due to market manipulation, such as India's import tariff?

"At midnight on the 13th of May, India’s import duty went up 2.5x on gold and silver, from 6% to 15%. At once. This was the biggest single-day hike since 2013."

as long as buyers can buy what they want there is no shortage. Speculation and anticipation of a shortage drove silver to all time highs. Note that price is now half of that yet supply and availability remain about the same.

What is the status of the refiners ?
Are they still over-supplied or are they now taking in scrap, sub-999 silver, etc ?

chart indicates a COMEX vault physical silver drain in late 2025 through mid 2026. coincides with much of the climb to silver highs. While supply of silver remained fairly constant during that period, the demand for it (speculation) was at an all time high. reduction of that demand, while the supply of silver remained fairly constant, is the result of decline in demand.

speculation by both the hoarders and industry is what pushed silver to new highs

the temporary decline in the availability of silver products was simply a result speculator hoarding during the same period of rising prices.

silver supply not the same as silver availabity
