FUN Show—brief show report and new pickup

It's just under a two hour drive one-way for me, and I timed it to get into the building just as the ribbon was being cut at 10am. Except...I went to the North Concourse parking lot, and was informed the show was at the West Concourse. Doh!

All of the public registration lines were ~20 people deep, which took ~10mins. FUN members have a separate registration that had no line; the father of a young man who was a member scoffed when they told him he had to wait on the public line.

The US Mint queue was already a couple of hundred people deep. I didn't bother asking what they were waiting for. There was no line at CACG and I dropped off a coin for crossover. This is my first CACG submission.

The floor was busy, but not crowded. I stopped and chatted with @PeakRarities who had some primo material as always. Had a few other chats with dealers here and there, but was otherwise mission-focused and skipped lunch entirely.

I did two full rounds of the bourse, and returned home with a new friend, an 1895 Barber Quarter Proof with the rich, original, colorful toning that I love. As a bonus, it's in an old NGC holder w/CAC approval. Worth the trip!

Check out this video on my Instagram if you want to see the purdy colors.

I'll be back for the January 2027 show.

Nothing is as expensive as free money.
