    France still at -420

Not hard to envision France winning this game 2-0 or 2-1. Maybe 3-1. Maybe none of the mentioned scores. LOL

    stevekstevek Posts: 32,423 ✭✭✭✭✭

Bankroll still slightly north of $400, however it's been languishing a bit lately. Need to tighten things up, and get it better headed towards $500.

May not even make a large deposit at the start of football season, as previously mentioned. My max-bet parameter now is $25. I may just increase the max-bet to $50 when football season begins.

    France ML
Got the money in at -400

I don't think France is a lock by any means. But I like the odds. Wouldn't be a big surprise if Morocco wins in an upset.

Well as has been said many times throughout the ages, "Glory is fleeting."

While I enjoyed the nice win with France, i do have a MLB profit boost for 50% which I must use by tonight. Have to use it, gives me a nice edge. So I gotta get back to figuring out tonight's MLB games. I do see some decent possibilities.

great job boys. winning a bet is infinitely sweeter when my compadres cash along with me.

i didn't see a single second of that game due to work constraints, but i glanced at the stats and it was clearly lopsided. Morocco must have tried to park the bus, because they had one shot on goal the entire game. And by the looks of it, France could have easily put up a 4 or 5 spot on them.

i don't give two pop tarts who they play next, i'm betting on Les Bleus again in the semis. no team remaining has a triumvirate that can come within a country mile of Mbappe/DembΓ©lΓ©/Olise. high-octane on offense, and they've given up 2 goals in 6 games on D.

if they don't win the whole enchilada i'll be extremely taken aback. France's backups could beat Team USA. they are a fully loaded assault rifle

Just received a 30% profit boost on a WNBA game. But it can only be used on the Fever game tonight. The Fever is actually a slight dog. When I saw that line, it was obvious Caitlin was out. Questionable is my girl Sophie.

I sure hate passing on a 30% profit boost, but I have no discernible clue, considering what was mentioned, what's gonna happen in this game? Seems the Fever center is nicked up, but she will play, but how well?

Just caught the Phillies in a squeaker, with a 50% profit boost.

Still looking at that dam WNBA game. It's haunting me for some reason. Without Caitlin the opponent with the player who got suspended after mugging Caitlin, that team is probably dying to pound the heck out of the Fever without Caitlin in there.

But I think I'm gonna pass on it. I've already had an excellent day. So if that opponent wins, then it wins, what the yell. The late money actually coming in on the Fever.

OK. so what am I looking at here with these bets? $424.06? betting dollars on games? seriously. if it was real money the dynamics completely change. is that not obvious? am I the only one who thinks stevek is a complete buffoon? Why is this even a thing? I bet $100 on the Mets or France or whoever . This is the absolute weirdest thread. I love it becuase of that, but I am always shocked by the seriousness of it all. like... really. galaxy has been down thousands for years and he doesn't care. so what is up. explain this to me. If I bet like $10K on a game that would make me the all time better in this thread.

I am asking a serious question about the dynamics of sports betting. if it was for real how would you approach it. $400 vs $400,000. It's a serious question. I don't bet so I am not speaking as any sort of authority.

    @bgr

just a bunch of degens sharing their gambling experiences. different methodologies, different speeds. i've said this many times -- i couldn't care less how much or how little someone gambles. bluejay once said he felt foolish wagering small potatoes compared to me. i had to remind him that if i wagered the amount he did, i wouldn't be stuck thousands. so who is the fool?

steve's approach greatly impresses me, truth be known. very disciplined and very meticulous, regardless of the amount. i can't speak for him, but i think he's trying to generate a proven track record of what works for him BEFORE he ramps it up. which is the way it should be if you want to win at this game.

for me it's all about fun and transparency. if i'm going to document my own personal turbulence, i want anyone who is following along to get the full experience. and that's why i post all of my bets ahead of time. i've tried to be very regimented where that is concerned. there have been a few times when i've unloaded while drunk and simply couldn't log in, screenshot, crop and post before action commenced. when that happens, i omit it from my running deficit. πŸ˜‚ (i actually left out a few hefty winners.)

i just want everyone to win. in fact, i get more excited about winning bets that aren't my own. easily my favorite thread in my 14+ years.

Mercury up 53-47 at halftime. Had it handicapped right, but didn't play anything.

Of course it's not over yet. But tough to see the Fever coming back without Caitlin in there. Oh well. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

OK. That makes sense to me. Sometimes it seems so serious though that I wonder if it's serious. Then it's like... not serious and it's not taken seriously.

I trained a context.. like an attitude I guess for a model which does chats for people... but for steve. Trained on over 20 years of posts. Sometimes I just talk to it.... it's so entertaining.

    I asked it.

"be stevek and tell me about a great bet for some sporting event tonight. pick one at random."

[stevek voice β€” profile in action]

Alright, since ya asked...and i'm only sayin' this once. Take the PHILLIES on the run line tonight, -1.5 against the Nationals. Easy money.

Look at the matchup - Washington's bullpen is held together with duct tape & a prayer, and our guys have been absolutely MASHING at the Bank lately. Run line's sittin' around +150, so bet $10 to win $25 total...

Now i know, i know - the "smart money" crowd says just take the moneyline & play it safe. Where's the fun in that? Phils win this one by 3, and you can take that to the bank. Book it.

Only thing i'd trust more is that i'll NEVER make my money back on my 200 Kevin Maas rookies...now THAT'S a lock. πŸ˜‰

    Go Phillies!

My book is -340 on Spain. I think with Belgium blowing out the USA team, which turned out to be a weak team, it may make Belgium look better to the computer than what they really are.

I'm not saying Belgium can't win here, but it seems like Spain is a pretty good value.

    stevekstevek Posts: 32,423 ✭✭✭✭✭

Been receiving tennis profit boosts every day.

My book has Alexander Zverev at -630. I recall before the internet, some of these tennis match-ups, especially in the early stages of a tourney, seemed like mortal locks. I don't know the tennis players at all. But I've done well in soccer just figuring the math. If Zverev is a lock, i'll gladly take -630 all day long.

    Match begins at 8:30am ET

    Zverev ML

  • Options
    stevekstevek Posts: 32,423 ✭✭✭✭✭

    Zverev now at -780

I think the Big Boys are expecting this to be a quick match.

  • Options
    stevekstevek Posts: 32,423 ✭✭✭✭✭

Interesting prop - Zverev is "only" -380 to win the first set?

But I'm gonna lay off any props until i get a better feel for the wagering side of the game. However that -380 sure looks juicy - almost too juicy?

  • Options
    stevekstevek Posts: 32,423 ✭✭✭✭✭

    Zverev now at -800

    It's a feeding frenzy.

Well i'll be...for once i actually jumped on a number early instead of dawdlin' like i usually do - grabbed Zverev at -630 before the Big Boys piled in. Now she's sittin' at -800 & climbin'. That's the "feeding frenzy" for ya, everybody smells blood at the same time.

Here's the thing though & i've said it before - ya don't gotta know a single one of these tennis fellas to make a buck. Just follow the math & let the sharp money show ya the way, same as i do with the soccer. If this one cashes clean i'm right back at it tomorrow...might have to rename this the Zverev retirement fund. 😎

Looked at this game with my special, deluxe edition, magnifying glass, and I gotta go with Spain.

BTW - that magnifying glass is available at Walmart for 99 cents. πŸ˜‚

    Spain ML

Should probably go with Oyarzabal anytime goalscorer, but I don't like the odds. If he scores one or more goals, and Spain wins, I'll still be very happy.

  • Options
    stevekstevek Posts: 32,423 ✭✭✭✭✭

Decided to go with Oyarzabal score or assist.

I kinda sorta like the odds on that one, especially with a 30% boost.

Tough MLB games tonight. Nothing jumping out at me.

Probably pass on the lot, and try again tomorrow.

Bankroll continues to go well. If it can get to the $500 mark by the start of football season, I'd be very pleased with that.

"The regular season is scheduled to begin on September 9, 2026, with reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle hosting New England in the NFL Kickoff Game."

Hissed off a little bit at myself. I really liked the D-backs late last night as a dog, but just couldn't pull the trigger on it. They easily blew-out the Dodgers. What hisses me even more is the game was tied 3-3, and I could have jumped on it live for nice odds, and didn't do that either.

I've mentioned this before, that Chip Reese stated MLB was the only sports betting game he ever beat. I feel like he pointed to some mountains and said there's gold up there, I just gotta find it. Feels like I'm getting closer as my MLB handicapping is better than it used to be. Just need to keep. working on it.

Haven't played anything yet, but I like the Phillies ML a little bit in the 6:10 game.

Also like England in the soccer game today at 5:00. Probably play my man Harry Kane in an anytime scorer prop. He hasn't let me down yet.

I read pre game predictions and it was all about Ohtanhi and his pitching

Glad I stayed away I would have got smoked
