When the "states" quarter program rolled out in 1999 it brought a lot of collectors into the fold. Now however serious dedicated modern quarter collectors are probably around a couple hundred thousand in the US best guess.. I think long term everyone who wants one will get one, but the hoarders may have a say in that. The price may stay around $350 long term...

Sure he's making money but that's just how I fell.
I believe now that they are a $75 coin in a slab graded ms64.
The coins he is listing do not look all that great. Maybe 63's.

He is not price gouging anyone... by definition.

No one has to buy them.

Im just concerned about the fallout. Right now he is getting premium money.
How are all these collectors going to feel when they are selling for $100?
I suspect Rob will have a few upset customers.
I understand that its buyer beware but still.

But keep in mind : there are only 250,000. How many pure collectors won’t get one ?

With flippers finding piles of these they will be available in large quantities on ebay soon pushing prices down to $100-200 or so I'm thinking.

Agreed. The buyers have FOMO and are not convinced, as I am, that there will be an abundance being dumped on ebay soon with sellers racing to the bottom for pricing.

Crystal Ball says $15 to $25 raw on this 250,000 coin issue. Depends on stock image versus actual image.

Premium $ for Fancy slab labels, various companies & grades, who knows $ ?

Collectors might go crazy for Poor 01 slabbed pocket worn pieces.

Your crystal ball would serve you better predicting the Powerball jackpot winning numbers sir!

Why are you wasting it's time asking about a coin you consider to be "clad trash"?

I don’t think someone can engage in unintentional price gouging. And even if they could, that’s not what this seller is doing.

If they are price gouging, so are a large number of other coin dealers who have prices I don't agree with.

How'd you like to pay $650 for a quarter then a week or two later, get one in change.

Whether you think you can or, think you can't, you're right.

Close to a Mint store, go buy something & get a free July 4th 25c. Happening at Philly & Denver I saw posted on facebook. I'm 70 miles from Denver so using 8 gallons gas & parking fees & time means this 250,000 made issue is not worth it to me. I would guess any purchase at USMINT table at FUN this weekend will get you a free Privy Quarter or two if you ask nice. Take kids and maybe each will get one too.

Go get your free 25c with July 4th privy !

Crazy the guy has sold 161 at $650 ea. That's netting like $90k~!

Definitely something to profit on now. I'd see these at like $40-75 in not too long?

Everyone wants the latest new thing. It's a great way to burn money.

I ordered $500 worth of quarters from my bank in Michigan. Picked them up today. They were all 2026 but so far haven’t found a July 4th privy mark. Checked $400 worth so far. All are from the Denver mint.

It’s not that “he may not be price gouging” - he’s not. If you’re not sure, you can look it up.

He’s selling non-essential items in a free marketplace. The fact that you think the price will decline from current levels, doesn’t make any difference. And even if the price does drop significantly, it still doesn’t make any difference.

I hope you can eventually acquire one at a level you’re comfortable with.

Rob is giving away around 100 of these totally free. Definitely doesn't have to do it. Gave 15 away on his stream today, another 15 on Friday and more this weekend.

I think those thinking this is going to be under $100 are dreaming, especially for fresh mint state coins. Sure maybe in a few years for the circulated XF/AU ones. MS64 and better quality will continue to be $300-$400+ all day long, maybe even more depending on how many of the 250k are saved before they start to circulate.

Dumb question but are these only from one mint, or are they on both Philly and Denver quarters?

Let's be real. He is doing it for likes and subscribers. The YouTubers make money from advertisers.

If he was on here offering the free coins then I would agree he is paying it forward.

The collector I met found them in a sealed box of bank rolled quarters ($500) . He said half the box was mixed rolls of national park/ statehood quarters (circulated) . Declaration of Independence quarters were all new rolls and many had no privy mark, while all those not bearing a privy were “P” mint. He said “ not one ‘D’ mint in any of them rolls”

I am seeing more and more reports that these are just being found in Philadelphia rolls. Hope that’s not true as my Denver rolls came today. Would love to hear if anyone has had any luck with Denver rolls.
