PCGS Announces New Pricing

Just got this. I was expecting price increases at some point.
New prices take effect Aug 1 but unclear if it's for submissions received (or entered into system?) Aug 1.
Looks like mostly just a $2 increase for economy and regular tiers.
What is disappointing and what I would have preferred is if they adjusted the tiers to account for inflation, or at least create a new tier so modern gold 1oz coins don't all have to be at the $70 express level. Oh well.

I wonder if it will affect the price for the collectors club.
Ive got 8 vouchers I need to use so I wont get hit with the price increase right away.
I don't really know their price structure anyway.

They also removed special issues entirely. No more special issues economy. Effectively a price hike there but more consistent to perhaps a wash.
Guess it was bound to happen at some point, not much ya can do

Inflation is alive and well.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
It's about time. PCGS was way too cheap for way too long.
Nice to see them catch up with other price increases.
CACg economy is less, the grading happens faster than at NGC and PCGS, and stricter.
No worries.
With oil and gas going down I'm sure all kinds of companies will be turning around and reducing their prices soon.

I thought it would be worse to be honest.
For some it feels satisfying and feels good to be pumping gas knowing they can easily afford to do so, really- no matter what the prices are- and see the guy in the landscaping truck next to them sweating as he figures out how he is going to pay for it all.
I think it’s better to be honest. 😏 As the saying goes, “Honesty is the best policy”.
