Hello all!
Just sending out a reminder that the 40th Anniversary Set Registry Awards deadline is only a few days away. Be sure to get your sets locked in by this Tuesday, June 30, 2026!
With a more focused competition and elevated prizing, this year's awards will be the most exciting yet! Check out the full rules and guidelines for which categories are part of this year's competition here: https://l.pcgs.com/40-setregistry-forum.
Best of luck and happy collecting!

It is clear you are focusing this year's awards on the 40 categories and 20 composites. Probably a dumb question, but are you still giving our the blue, gold, platinum and ten-year banner awards for the multitudes of other set categories in the registry?

Hi Bosox.
We will not be giving out blue, gold, platinum, or ten-year banner awards this year. We will have more information to share about the badge program in the coming months! Best of luck with this year's competition.

No offense, but THIS is an absolute slap in the face.
@PCGS_Hy @Charles_Morgan, are you actually going to look us in the eyes and tell us that sets like these

are not worthy of a Platinum Banner? 2020 upset a LOT of members, but at least the registry had some level of excuse for p*ss-poor service. Please tell me I'm misreading what you posted, because it absolutely looks to me like all of the competition rules and rewards that have been in print for years are just empty promises and lies!
not giving out banners that have been going for 20 years is definitely one way to not just shot yourself in the foot but put the foot in the mouth of a shark, annihilating traditions is very simple way of removing loyal customers, which is even funnier because ive been invited into new registry pages from legit parties that are on rise,
great way to get them opportunity to get a foot on the market
on top of with how double plus ungood have been past year about registry sets (pictures randomly disappearing, sets taking too long to be accepted, no upgrades to make searching in populations easier, auction results unsortable (last two are long lasting problem))
but yeah, just like always, dont forget to blame "market" "people" "customers/consumers" for stuff that could be solved with workforce that would fix those problems
Been part of the registry sets for two decades. Why don't I feel at all optimistic right now?

Our team had a fantastic time reviewing the sets. With so many competitive categories and exceptional coins, we can't wait to share the results and see many of you this August!

Well that totally ignores the complaints above..
I cannot believe that banners will not be given this year to hundreds of devoted and long time registry participants..this should seriously be reconsidered. What a catastrophe for people like bosox above and countless others who put so much money and effort into maintaining their registry every year under the impression they will have something to show for it from the hosts.
I've never been aggressive in the registry, I just like to collect..but even I with my couple of banners on various sets am pretty disappointed to see that I will miss out this year for no good reason after maintaining leading positions. I am very upset for collectors who have several years and sometimes a decade or two of undisrupted banners.
Ditto all the above complaints.
Went from award plaques, to pay for award plaques, to award pins, to no plaques or pins, just banners. And now, no banners. I guess we’ve reached the end of the road for registry sets recognition.
The decision to phase out the traditional Best of Registry, gold, platinum, and ten-year banner awards is a significant pivot, and we recognize the frustration this causes, especially for collectors who have dedicated years to building their sets.
The reality is that over the last two decades, the PCGS Set Registry has expanded to a scale where the legacy banner system no longer accurately reflects or scales with the true depth of modern collecting. This year's focus on a streamlined competition is a necessary first step in a broader, long-term evolution of the program.
We are actively reimagining the Set Registry to build a better dual experience: an inviting entry point for new collectors and a highly competitive, prestigious environment for advanced collectors.
The insights gained from this year's transition are already being used as a diagnostic tool. We are looking across the entire scope of the program to evaluate which composites thrive, which require structural updates, and how to better incentivize participation in areas where extreme rarity or cost historically blocked traditional completion.
Our vision for the Set Registry extends far beyond an annual competition. We are committed to building a modernized program that honors the effort you put into your collections, and we will share our roadmap for the new badge system in the coming months.

The reality is that over the last two decades, the PCGS Set Registry has been circling the drain faster and faster, and somebody just dumped in a quart of Drano. These roadmaps you're teasing about had better WOW the ever-loving **** out of us, because as of this moment, I see absolutely no reason to continue being a part of the Registry - and certainly no reason to continue being a paid PCGS member AT ALL!
I just completely cancelled my PCGS subscription. I urge everyone else to do the same.
