I think RobFindsTreasure is good YouTube content. I happened to catch this today when he searched for the Privy Mark Quarters, what a score!

AWESOME !
That is amazing! But I still cannot understand the (eBay) prices for a coin with "only 250,000 Produced.
That does not seem rare to me. What am I missing?
holy shit. that's insane. Like a million bucks.
Happy for him as he did the leg worth hitting up banks until he got uncirculated boxes. But wow, did the Mint do an absolutely horrible job at mixing these into circulation!!!

He should sell them quickly as prices are already falling. But at $500 each it is still over 400K. Nice find!!
He's on it

So much for spreading them around.
With a hoard like that I wouodnt expect to pay more than $100 tops.
They aren't rare anymore.
Edited to add: The more I think about just how common these will be if hoards like this keep showing up the less I find them attractive.
I might buy one slabbed and in high grade but I refuse to pay alot.

They seem pretty common to me, also. Perhaps the number the Mint claims to be releasing into circulation is as accurate as their product pages on the web site.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
39 sold??? Damn!!
Not rare when there are a quarter million
He found over 800 of em. I thought these would be mixed in circulation
haven't even found the non privy design of it yet
How many people would spend $50.00 for an unsearched roll on the 'Bay ?
That was just one box, got two boxes, likely well over 1000 total, maybe even 0.5% or more of the entire mintage in just two boxes

In only ONE box, still has another box to open (and it has a least 20 July 4th enders)
Good For Him!

Time for someone at the mint to start telling everyone the truth regarding mintages, website problems, pricing, etc. Seems a lot of very misleading information is being put out……and that is unfair to collectors and the general public. Sure is making me rethink future purchases…..and I know I’m not the only one…..
How do you think coins get to circulation?
Coin Photography
“Place randomly into circulation” misleading & kinda defeats the purpose of being in “circulation” when it’s taken from the source.
Pretty hard to get it in any circulation or transaction when a brand new box can be swiped.
This is how every modern issue has been released into circulation, special or not. It’s just how the distribution system works.

He may have several hundred in those boxes. He better sell them quickly.
I think $650 is kind of steep. I feel bad for the people shelling that out. Its going to be very sobering in a month or two when they are $100.

He's doing okay since he found 815, although some had rings of death, which sucks.

Or sobering when you can't buy one for less then $1,000. Time will tell
I follow RobFindsTreasure and watched this mornings video.

But, those boxes are meant to be distributed to business, who in turn hand the quarters out one, two or three at a time to retail customers. He certainly has a good banker and got extremely lucky. Oh, if you watched the video he said he'll be giving some away to those that watched his video. Just like and comment. He'll announce more about the give away, probably on the next box video.

Happy 250th USA!!
What do you expect? It’s the new government way.
Anything to get more likes and subscribers! 🙄
The US Mint distributes coins in $50,000, “ballistic” bags. They likely shoveled in a large amount of Privy coins into the top of those bags. When the coin were rolled up, it makes sense that some rolls had a much higher concentration of privy coins than others, and thus some boxes did too.
The govt may have been able to come up with a mechanism to ensure a more even disbursement , but operational disruption may have cost more than the calculated benefit.
Someone at the mint got lazy?
Dumped a big lot in one shot?
Let's ASSUME the mint never heard of CRH.
Way to go mint, screwed the pooch again.
In this case the mints usage of the word "randomly" seems deceptive. Randomly where? In within one state,Two states? Could be done this way and still fill the definition of random. Many are probably believing the more generalized view of random all over the u.s. when in fact it's possible it's more random within a specific location.
Has anyone on the forum received one ? or more ?
I have been tracking Ebay auctions since the first one was listed.
There are many sellers who have sold more than 1 and at least one other seller who has sold over 100 of these coins.
The sellers are from multiple states so no it is not just 1 or 2 states that these have been found.
You can document this fact for yourself by searching Ebay Completed Auctions.
I will be rushing to my bank early monday morning to order quarter boxes! I will be happy finding just one!
Truely, with this many found in one box the price will drop very fast. Even at $100 per coin finding 815 is an instant $80,000 profit!
Ill be asking my local bank for boxes.
They are no more or less rare than they ever were. 250k is 250k, whether they are all in one hoard or in 250k different collections.

There’s intrinsically rare and there’s rare from an availability standpoint. The poster you quoted was clearly referring to the latter.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Ive already sobered up. I wont have one if that's what they cost. I believe that such massive hoards like this one will continue to come out.
Even if 50,000 of them are kept that's alot.
Im not saying that anyone is right or wrong.
Im just thinking out loud.

There's short term availability and long term availability.
It's actually not at all clear that's what he meant, by the way. He said "common" not "available".

Always enjoy watching this guy. He does the leg work so he deserves everything he gets. Congratulations!
Ummm… thinking out loud here, but if these end up holding at $1,000+ each, that would mean the broader coin market is pouring more than $250 million into this single issue. (250,000 mintage × $1k+ = quarter-billion dollars in collector value.)
@jmlanzaf or @NJCoin, correct my math if I’m off, but that doesn’t sound very “sobering” to me. That sounds more like 7–9 tequila shots chased with a few beers — pure optimism and wishful thinking… 😅 BUT fully agree that time will tell, indeed.

" Gift from the Director.
I've noticed a lot of people worried about the ethics of a gift of this value going to federal workers. I should clarify that the letter from the director says this is "a reward for our efforts."
So this week the superintendent called a meeting for each shift to present us with a reward from the director of the Mint, Paul Hollis. We were each given a silver proof set and 2 of the 2026 4th of July Privy Quarters. Thought I'd share with you all. Obv. & Rev. of each plus the info from the COA "
You are correct in your math. They aren't going to hold at $1,000+, and that's assuming any of the early sales are even real. No one ever went broke fading @WQuarterFreddie.
Likely a separate bag on top of a ballstic bag of quarters.
The W quarter scenario all over again.
All you need is a customer who deals directly with the USM for ballistic bags like a coin supplier -and deal with them to grab the ballistic bag that has been rolled and placed in one box.
This doesnt happen by luck.
Well if they do get into circulation they will grade lower because they will possible be out there longer. Just buying one now for $650 which may grade ms61 or ms62, 63 may be a better for collectors who want one for their set. Many will most likely go ungraded and kept. They will sell well until the next big thing like always. Is there a comparison for this? The Wis> leafs are not a good comparison..
No one gets 800 in a box of $1000.
And it definitely would not have been rolled in nearly solid rolls if mixed in with ballistic bags of $50,000 face.
Something just doesnt sound right - but more power to the guy that got them (likely he has some partners to share his find with.....)
It's likely your bank will give one of three responses when you ask for these quarters:
1) What quarter? Independence Day Quarter? I've never heard of it.
2) We dont have any.
3) If we order quarter boxes, we cant guarantee what we get.
Good Luck.
It was 815 in a box of $500 face, you can see the video for yourself. Clearly the Mint didn't mix them in very well (or at all) when putting them into the ballistic bags.

I ordered a $500 box of quarters. There is no guarantee on what year they’ll be,,,,but I remember back in the 60’s you could roll search and find cool coins. To me this is no different. When I’m done I’ll take them to a different bank and run them through their sorting machine, Good fun either way no premium charged.
I just passed up 5 rolls that walked into the shop on Thursday. I’m reading the boards today , pondering what I told these two people. “Try putting just 1 on eBay, start it at $1, and texting me a link. “. They both got excited and said “ okay! “. Will report back.
