Usps seeks owner of coin

This is the first time I've seen the Usps with such a request. Lots of packages get separated from their contents and then they are sent to a facility where stuff rarely comes back.

I don't think this is a case of simple separation. They arrested someone who was probably in possession of the coin. They probably need a complainant to file charges for theft of the coin.

They may simply need to reconstruct a tracking number. There are several possibilities.

And if the coin wasn't in packaging but loose in the suspect's possession. People are assuming a lot.
