1950 Proof Dime -- DDR FS-801?

I think this is it but dimes are so tiny...

Spotted it in a coin shop - Photographed their proof set inventory, saw it in the photo back home, went back today and bought it.

Did I do good? $625 for the set.

    I think not, but I see what you're seeing. This is a subtle variety. Need to have a Roosie expert weigh in,

    Your pics are missing the area of split serifs on ER of AMERICA. The lower right of E and upper left of R show splitting at the varietyvista site.

    The Jefferson looks awful nice and frosty.

    I guess I should have posted with annotations on what I'm looking at. See below. In addition to the items marked, the most obvious thing is the thickness of the main branch on the right side... If you pull up an example of a normal proof and compare side-by-side with the DDR photos, the additional thickness is obvious.

    The die is deteriorated some but I don't think it's DDD. Pretty sure this is it...

    PCGS Population is 9 and NGC Population is 5. Top pop currently on Ebay selling for <$1000. Weird markets.

    Thanks! I think the Jefferson and Washington are both good cameo candidates.

    I didn't take photos of the ER but I will later.

    The VV and DD websites don't show the doubling on the branch very well.

    Thumbnail below is DDR from PCGS. If you click the thumbnail it will compare normal with DDR Hope this helps.

    I made a GIF comparing DDO and NORMAL. Maybe someone will find it useful.

    Damn hard to see even with a comparison like this. Did my best to get it lined up...

    So I looked this up in the actual printed Cherrypickers' Guide. It has a picture, and says "Moderate doubling is evident on UNUM, DIME, and OF AMERICA"

    The printed picture is not very clear. It might show slight doubling at the top of RIC. with split serifs at the top left of RI of AMERICA. The third example on CoinFacts might show notching at the serifs of RI of AMERICA. None of the CoinFacts pictures show anything clearly, so I wouldn't consider using them for overlays.

    The printed guide also suggests "this may be difficult to sell", suggesting that the variety is worth $60 in PF-65 versus $50 in PF-65 for a non-variety example.

    I am fairly confident that the OP's example is not the listed variety, especially considering the number of places marked with circles and arrows that are not markers for the variety.

    Yeah I agree. Not it. I know what to look for now, though.
