asheland’s latest NEWP #2 of 2 The Indian Head Cent!

One of my all-time favorite series…

I kind of collect these on the fly, if I find one that I like, I just simply buy it, I thought about doing an entire set in the past, but that’s quite an undertaking and I collect so many different things that, with my limited funds, I have to be careful…

This one has me re-thinking about doing the set again… I have the 1866 in the exact same grade, MS 63 Brown, like this one it’s very, very choice and just has the perfect look for the grade.

Looking through the Greysheet, in MS 63 Brown, most of these dates are pretty affordable if not downright cheap, the later ones…

Anyway, I liked the date and I love the look so I grabbed it! Strongly considering doing this set in 63 Brown now they would all be PCGS to have matching holders since I haven’t gotten too far in on this endeavor 😆

After this thread is initially posted, I’ll post my 1866 below and you guys can see how similar it looks…

And, like the others, if you have one similar, post it below! I love seeing you guy’s collections…

I will just post the 1866 here:
I got this about five years ago, I still love it, and since I bought it, I had EEPS… (last photo)

Terry - you know I love IHC’s! As we’ve discussed before, your 1866 is the tough S-1 variety. I just picked up a pretty 1881 graded 63RB:

“The thrill of the hunt never gets old”

    PCGS Registry: Screaming Eagles
    Copperindian
    Copperindian II
    Indy Eagles
    Gold Rush

    Retired sets: Soaring Eagles
    Copperindian
    Nickelodeon
    Early Walkers

Successful transactions: redraider, winesteven, renomedphys, splitaces, oreville, ajaan, Cent1225, onlyroosies, justindan, blitzdude, DesertMoon, johnnyb, Heubschgold, SunshineRareCoins, ParadimeCoins, ndeagles, Southern_Knights, pcgsregistrycollector

Very much, you have wonderful coins!

I thought you would see this thread and respond, what’s cool about my 1866, the day after I bought it I posted it on here. This was in December 2021, one of the members pointed that out. I had no idea if it had a variety or not I just bought it because I liked the look of the coin and I love that date…

Luckily, when Rick Snow looked at it, he put the S1 attribution on the label with the EEPS. That makes it really cool that he authenticated it! (the variety)
