It’s amazing that @NJCoin continues doubling down.

Not if you've been around for a few years.

All comments reflect the opinion of the author, even when irrefutably accurate.

What was thid thread about again? 😵‍💫

The OP might want to change the title to "Train wreck - all aboard!". 😄

    Or,
"Proof again collectors are passionate about what they collect and love to express their variety of opinions"

A very kind and optimistic view of this childish mess.

    Yes. Amazing.

Also amazing is the fact that one of the people who feels compelled to keep engaging me on this believes they are blessed with an abundance of common sense. Lots of amazing things to see here if you just take the time to look.

After all, why would a merchant care what non-customers think?

I get stuff in my mailbox nearly every day from merchants I've never done business with. And have you ever watched tv? There seem to be an awful lot of merchants out there who care about what non-customers think. ;)

I believe that @MFeld is righteous.
If you speak the truth then it should be considered fair.
His contributions have changed some of my thinking in a good way.
I don't always like it but its the truth.
Not most of the time but all of the time.
With his background he is an asset to collectors. Free advice pertaining to the hobby from a person who has multi-
faceted experience and one hell of a resume.
    Numismatics flows through his veins.
One last thing and I will shut up.
As far as mentioning his employer he has the right to be individual and speak his mind without any repercussions from his employer.
Its a free country after all.
He will probably slam me for writing this.
I know Mark can stick up for himself.
I am speaking from my own interactions with him.

I'm struggling here with a conundrum. I DON'T want to buy the New York Times because I don't think it is worth the money. But since I'm not buying the NYTs, I'm not allowed to have an opinion. That means I can't have the opinion that it is not worth the money. So, Great Oracle, does that mean that I MUST buy the NYTs?

Honestly, it would do you good to buy the NYTs and read it. So yes, I would say that you MUST by the NYTs

It was a joke. You should probably start reading MAD magazine.

    Love Mad magazine, good suggestion!

Agreed. He can say and do anything he wants. I was just wondering out loud whether his employer would want him interacting with anyone, a customer or a non-customer, in such a way in a public forum. Like it or not, his actions are a reflection on the major numismatic auction house that employs him.

Given his view on how companies should care about the opinions of non-customers, Heritage should be mortified over the way @MFeld causes me to view him. And, by extension, them.

Righteous or not. Because he could also just stick to dispensing "free advice pertaining to the hobby from a person who has multi-faceted experience and one hell of a resume," while refraining from otherwise engaging with anonymous members of the public in a public coin forum.

"As far as mentioning his employer he has the right to be individual and speak his mind without any repercussions from his employer." Not true, unless he has an employment contract that provides he cannot be dismissed for any reason.

The First Amendment protects speech from adverse government action. People can and do get fired every day for shooting off their mouths in ways their employers don't like. In and out of the office. Don't believe me? Just ask Roseanne Barr. Or Stephen Colbert.

I haven't read anything. serious. I believe your just trying to blow it up.
I wouldn't go down that path. I just think its unnecessary.
Why put a target on him?
I think he is well respected at his firm.
Mark has nailed me hard more than once and it stung.
    He is a straight shooter.
    He's straight up hard-core.
    Ive said enough.
I don't want it to appear like I am laying it on to thick LOL.
I just think he's one of the good guys.
This thread is dead and probably be closed or whatnot.
