2016 Proof Kennedy "whats going on" question
COINS MAKE CENTS
So I pulled this out of a Proof set with messed up plastic. I noticed these lines on the obverse and reverse.
Is this the result of this coin being struck through some type of reeding scrap? I dont see how this would happen any other way?
Anyone have any input?

It DOES appear to be mint made "damage" so is it an error? Hmmm. Good question. I vote "yes"- a minor error.
not reeding scrap
unknown mint damage. not a mint error
"messed up plastic" might be a clue.

i wonder if that somehow happened on the press with a weird strike like that, i dunno
probably some kind of struck through.

What does the edge look like?
I more meant scratched up not really a packaging problem.

This is clearly post-strike damage. Probably caused by the packaging equipment at the Mint.
that rim has been squeezed enough to cause damage. you'll notice it's one thickness up until it gets to the damage and then it takes a step down
Ok so a damaged proof it is! Thanks for the help everyone!
