Incredible Print at ANA Library

I was wandering around the ANA library during Summer Seminar this week and this massive print of an uncut sheet of 1896 $1 Educational Series notes is hanging on the wall behind the shelves. At about 6 feet high, each note is about 1 1/2 feet high and 3 1/2 feet high, which is about 6x normal size. The print is needle sharp edge to edge. I spoke with Doug Mudd to see if he remembered how it was made. Someone (can't remember the name) was experimenting with ultra-high resolution scanning using a special camera that was made with a scanner detector quite some time ago. The scanning resolution was probably over 2000 DPI, taking multiple passes, probably taking hours to finish the scan. The printing technology was equally impressive to be able to produce the final result. Below is a picture of the framed print and a close-up of the Constitution showing just how sharp it is. Keep in mind that these are phone pictures that contain a bunch of post processing even before being uploaded here, which shrinks the size and increases the compression artifacts.
