Any truth to the rumor that big mint buyers already have 2026 mint sets?

Heard from what I consider to be a reliable source. Thousands have been sold. Is this a common thing?
First I have heard of it. Regular mint buyers have to wait until June 30 and are limited to 10 sets until 300k is hit.

Yes, Authorized Bulk Purchase Program (ABPP) dealers buy and distribute select Mint sets. However, the U.S. Mint does not sell directly to the public through the ABPP; this program is an invite-only wholesale channel for authorized dealers.
Key Details on the ABPP:
What it is: A specialized program that allows qualifying bulk dealers to receive select high-demand, limited-mintage Mint sets—such as the Mint Sets—in advance of the official public on-sale date.
Member Requirements: Dealers must be active, long-standing members of the Numismatic Bulk Purchase Program (NBPP) and meet strict yearly revenue and compliance criteria.

i think I read somewhere that 22,500 was the ABPP offering and that they had all vanished by 3 pm yesterday. The sales of 14,105 was thru Sunday the 21st.

It will be interesting to see the number right before it goes live. The HHL limit of 10 could mean a significant number of subscriptions.

I figure that out of 10 I should at least get 5-6 nice sets. I was very lucky on the silver proof sets 6 of 6 were perfect with none of the silver coins nicked or the horrible looking cents that I've seen online.

The APBB number and the currently listed ATS gets us right close to the 300,000 supposed limit (299,191)

I would be very happy with MS68! The PCGS population for 2026 has a huge number of the half dollars graded already and the results are less than excellent IMO (both P & D):

MS70 0

Total 50868

And the total number of clad halves graded from 1971 through 2025 is 79308, so this year is by far the largest of any year by an order of magnitude.

They removed 5,000 exactly from ATS this morning.
