Its June 22nd and I have a few quiet nights away from the family so I thought I would do a summary of the first half of 2026. The highlights, the lowlights, the projects and the work in progress.

2026 thus far has been a very productive year. If the year ended today, it would be a great year.

Key coins added:
1819 Chile Portales Pattern

1881 Haiti Proof Gourde

1800-So CROLUS 8R

1811-P Colombia 8 Reales

Chilean Patterns
I added group of Chilean patterns and trial pieces from the Henry Christensen estate via Heritage. These are rare and likely won;t show up again for decades.

Projects undertaken or underway:
- The Portales Pattern census which was picked up by PCGS and became a blog
- The Popayan Portrait 8R census linked above
- Working on a refresh of the Krause catalog for Chilean patterns with images and unlisted coins
- Working on an article of the 1867 - 1868 Chilean patterns, their connection to Longacre, and new information on provenances, the gilt coins, local Chilean manufacturing and more.

Here's to a great back-half for all! Share your first half progress.

Those are great additions. It's been a slow year for me so far. I'm hoping for a better back half.

On the flip side of collecting, I sold 114 out of 115 coins that I commissioned. One was a silver Spanish proclamation medal about 4R in size and the rest were 8Rs. I still have my core Carlos III pillars and portraits and my eclectic group of World Crowns.

Excellent write up. Looking forward to reading the outcome for the year. I have already posted most noteworthy and even not so noteworthy additions in other posts.
