Best of the Mint signed Director Hollis cards

mbr33mbr33 Posts: 646 ✭✭✭✭

I took a shot at asking the Mint directly for an answer to the question of "How many signed cards are there?" and got the following response. Glad I asked. Did not expect an answer.

Dear Michael,
This letter is in response to your recent correspondence to the United States Mint.
Please note Director Hollis has handwritten 250 special notes which have been added to the inventory at random.
These are included during the fulfillment process and are not available outside of the delivery of the product.
An additional 250 will be randomly added for each of the five Best of the Mint launches.
Please be advised we would like to thank you for your continued business with the United States Mint.
For your convenience, we are available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET. I have a hard time being full of shit, so being a Congressman isn’t in the cards for me. I would lack the votes. BIGTIME!

Nice info, thank you for the effort. If I'm successful in ordering one of each of the five BOM coins, I hope to receive one Hollis signed card somewhere along the way, one in 120 odds. That said I'm posting early that I was shut out from receiving a Hollis signed card in any of the five. You heard it here first.

Well next time you talk to him, ask him if it is true that the 2027 Silver Proof Set will have a Lincoln cent and be minted in San Francisco like the description section says on their web page at https://www.usmint.gov/silver-proof-set-subscription-MV.html

And hey, at least you could get my vote, I hate the windbag types.

Make no mistake, I can be a windbag. I speak in public quite a bit.
I can always try to get an answer to that question.

It will be true, at least unless and until it isn't. The Mint is notorious lately for not announcing changes until the very last minute. No reason to think this would be any different.

I am a ChatGPT junkie now, it looks up facts really fast and give references.
I only use it for very specific factual questions though, as I do not want opinions from my computer.

Oh yeah, totally agree. I just need the minimum business days notice to pause or cancel.

Supposedly, five, but I got burned on the Enduring Liberty roll sets. Five days? Five business days? I've also been having issues accessing my subscriptions on the website. I've already started to pare back and hope to hit my final target, maybe five, by tomorrow night,

    I’m gonna try to go 5 for 5. 🤪

And, as usual now, you'll either get it or you won't. They really do whatever they want nowadays.

All kidding aside, if they close the SF mint, you'll have plenty of notice. Otherwise, there is no reason to expect any changes.
