Does anyone know how to contact the Yellowstone Collection of the retired proof buffalo nickel set?

I need a 1915 Proof PCGS 68 CAC to finish my set.

I would imagine there could be some contact information somewhere around the internet!

Personally I don't know how to (not that I've necessarily heard of them) but I think at the bare minimum finding any contact info would be your best bet.

I don't think that you can get it from the original owner, I believe it was auctioned on GC in December 2024. The PR68 1915 was sold in that sale: https://www.greatcollections.com/Coin/1718465/1915-Buffalo-Nickel-PCGS-Proof-68

However GC does have another PR68 1915 up for auction on July 5th: https://www.greatcollections.com/Coin/1942839/1915-Buffalo-Nickel-PCGS-Proof-68-Toned

That is also a PCGS: https://www.pcgs.com/cert/56559366 but I do not find it in a CAC look-up. However the Yellowstone (47458649) is also not in the CAC database.

How did you find the Yellowstone cert number? I believe the coin I am looking for was auctioned in Nov, 24 to the Yellowstone collection.

The last paragraph details a second coin sold in Nov 2024, which was part of the Greensboro collection.

Chat GPT told me that the Yellowstone collection was auctioned at GC on that date and that was the only one auctioned, hence https://www.greatcollections.com/Coin/1718465/1915-Buffalo-Nickel-PCGS-Proof-68

Here was its exact output, as the coins were sold over several auctions apparently:

The Yellowstone Collection of Buffalo Nickels was auctioned by GreatCollections in a series of weekly online auctions.

    The sale details were:

    • Auction house: GreatCollections
    • Format: Online-only auctions
    • Auction dates: December 1, 2024 through December 22, 2024, with different groups of coins closing each Sunday. (GreatCollections)
    • Company headquarters: Irvine, although bidding was conducted entirely online rather than at a live auction venue.

    The collection consisted of:

    • 72 PCGS-certified Buffalo nickels
    • 26 CAC-approved coins
    • Included both business strikes and the complete proof issues
    • Generated 2,757 bids from more than 1,700 registered bidders/watchers. (GreatCollections)

One of the notable coins was a 1919-S Buffalo Nickel graded PCGS MS-65+, which realized $38,363. The proof Buffalo nickels were sold during the December 8 auction session. (GreatCollections)

If you're referring to the famous Yellowstone Collection proof Buffalo nickel set, it was dispersed as part of this December 2024 GreatCollections sale rather than being offered as a single complete set in one lot. Each coin was sold individually over the four weekly auctions.

However, you are likely confusing the sale of a Greensboro Collection PR68 Buffalo at https://coins.ha.com/itm/proof-buffalo-nickels/1915-5c-jd-1-r2-pr69-pcgs-pcgs-103093-/a/1378-3688.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515 based upon the date. https://www.pcgs.com/cert/49691151 However this cert is also not listed with CAC.

The 1916 was just auctioned at Great Collections.

A thanks to George at Legend who helped me obtain the coin. This completes my proof buffalo nickel set in PCGS PR68 CAC.
I also have a PCGS 66+ 1927 specimen and two 1937 PCGS proof 67 cameo CAC.
Now I can work on my other sets.
