A 101 year old commemorative ... now that is an unusual find!
People pass away suddenly, have coins that get run through machines or taken to bank tellers, etc.. You could have much rarer coins such as 09s vdb Lincolns, etc. that don't even get noticed. Is anyone sorting out wheat cents or silver nickels, dimes and quarters at banks?
Man, you're not kidding! I've found a lot of silver over the years in different denominations from rolls and boxes. I've never found a silver commemoration!
That's all true. But on the other hand, there are young teller that don't have a clue when it comes to silver coins and others that "absolutely" know what to look for.
Not too long ago my cousin found a 1931-S Lincoln in a roll from the bank.
