Liberty Seated Half Dollars (lower circulated grades)

    Received this So-Called Dollar Book from Jeff, which he stated was the very last one of 1,000 that were printed. Last is better than not-at-all. lol

    Last coin book I purchased was the 2026 79th Edition of the newly formatted Red Book. When I seriously started to collect coins in around 1970, this was a great source of information for me. So year after year I purchased the book. I don’t like the new format and the book is no longer red, so this may be my last year of purchase.
    So if the authors or publishers come across this post, this will be my last year of purchase. Your Red Book is not a Red Book anymore. I will still continue to add past editions of this book from the ‘40’s though the ‘60’s. to my collection.

    David Bowers book on US coin hoards within the last year. That's "recent" to me, as I don't normally buy books outside my collecting interests and limited to buy from that.

    100% agree with you! A while back I got the 2026 edition, I literally hate it, I was gonna keep it as a curiosity, but a few days ago, I did a little purge of my library and got rid of it… If they don’t go back to the old format, I’ll just use my 2025 book going forward… Anything new that’s missing. I’ll just have to find the info elsewhere.

    A shame really, but you nailed it, it really is not a red book anymore…

    I miss the grading tips they used to have in every section. It was super useful to have coin-specific pointers when looking up prices.

    That, along with all the information and mintages in proof and MS all in one place. I hate having to look in multiple areas to find the info I used to find on one page. Plus this was a welcome source of information to the beginning collector, not so much now as the editors have cut out a lot of that information. Hate the format for the classic commems. as they removed all the information concerning their production. Won't buy another Not Red Book as I have yearly from 1971 to today!

    I guess this is a book ... more like a soft cover bound booklet, only 54 pages. I do prefer sitting and reading the information with out needing to do web searches. The fact is, I stumbled onto the book as I was "dialoging" with ChatGPT on the subject of Aluminum coinage.
