Have we seen the last monster season out of Judge?

heard the news this morning about his ribs. they said 4-6 weeks and then a re-evaluation. I bet he doesnt return before mid August. then we are looking at a lockout next season for who knows how long. by 2028, Judge will be in his age 36 season. most players are showing some regression at that point.
Will Aaron judge be one of the great "what ifs" of baseball history?

I think he will, but if he could have had a full season this year and next year we would be talking about well in excess of 600 home runs.

Missed a LOT of games 2018-20 and again in 2013.

Judge seems to be tracking pretty closely to Mark Mcgwire. very very good rate stats. some absolutely MONSTER seasons and lots and lots of missed time due to injury. Judge is in his age 34 season and only has 4300 AB's. with this years injury and the looming lock-out next season I dont see that number increasing all that much by his age 36 season.

it really is too bad. i like watching judge play. i think he will go down like Mantle or Koufax in the "what if" category. not that being compared to mantle is bad, but imagine if he had another 4000 AB's?

The Koufax comparison makes sense. Sandy had 5 seasons of over 200 IP and was hurt a couple of times before retiring with a bad elbow.
I don't see the Mantle comparison. Mickey had 12 seasons with at least 142 games played, Trout is at 5. Mickey had 9,910 PA.
Judge got a late start. didn't become a starter until he was 25, Mantle played in 96 games as a teenager! That's 5 seasons Judge won't get unless he plays until he's 41.
I recall when Aaron Judge first appeared on the scene and we discussed him here that I wasn't crazy about him like most members were. The most prophetic statement made at the time, and I can't recall who made it, was that his career would probably be shortened due to his size. He was a prolific hitter when he was healthy and a very good right fielder.

One thing about Judge…. He has put up some offensive numbers that I didn’t think was possible in today’s game with so many great relief pitchers… let alone the great starters. I think he’s already a top tier HOF’er. I don’t know about healthy seasons’ but I hope he gets a few more in.
Who has ever done this in a consecutive 4 year stretch…. Babe Ruth and Ted Williams maybe?
He is a great player but is very fragile and does not have the playing time accrued to make the HOF but could make it if he stays healthy for a few more years.
He is considered as having 10 years or more of MLB service. He’s going to reach 70 WAR. I’m taking bets.
Remember before Dick Allen was in the HOF? The knock against him was he didn’t play long enough. Dallasactuary always said he was the most deserving player that should be in and I think he was right, and he is now in the HOF.
He had 7,300 plate appearances and Judge is at 5,200 now so is that enough? For a good hitter no but a great one like Judge I’m not sure.
At any rate I think he will get at least 300-400 more games in before he’s done and get in easily.
JMHO, not HOF caliber, inconsistent due to injury time but a prolific hitter when he’s healthy. He plays for the right team and that alone may push him in. It’ll be a hard vote whenever he’s eligible.

Any Munson,Judge comparisons here for HOF discussion?
Munson had 9 straight full seasons. Nowhere near the slugger Judge is. Right now I would vote for Munson over Judge.
A couple more big years from the big guy and I might change my mind.
Judge has already had a better career than Sandy Koufax with more great seasons and no bad ones (excluding rookie year). He's led the majors in WAR three times, hit 50+ home runs four times, won 3 MVPs, has the second and fourth-highest OPS+ (integrated league, non-steroid division) seasons, and averages 8.7 WAR and 52 homers per 162. He's a no-brainer HOFer already.
I agree that Judge is probably already a HOFer. he has been an absolute monster. if it were not for all the missed time he would be putting the wraps on an inner circle resume.
I think he is the best hitter we have seen since Bonds. maybe the first 10 years of Pujols could be added in there as well, but Judge had bigger single seasons than Albert had.

as an all around player absolutely, but Judge is the better hitter.

I was surprised when I checked their lifetime BA and saw that Judge is higher at 291 to Ohtanhi's 283

true, and the other percentages are even more skewed toward Judge. OBP is .34 higher, slg is .32 higher, obp .66 higher
