The ANA Bourse is sold out.
This year the ANA Convention is the latest in the Summer that I ever remember. As of today, the bourse is sold out. They added 12 more Economy tables last week and every one of them are also sold. This is the earliest sellout that I can remember. Sounds like the show will be a barn burner. This will be my 56th consecutive ANA show. I have been asked what my favorite ANA show was. My answer is the next one. I can't wait.

I wonder what the reasons are for the bourse sell out? Pittsburgh is closer to the East Coast than Chicago.

It should be a great show based on the activity at coin shows for 2026. We'll be set up, as usual.
Should be a great show ..... unless the airlines run out of jet fuel and cancel flights.
Some dealers who regularly attend the ANA shows skipped the OKC show due to difficulty with travel and the cost, so there was likely an increase in demand for tables at this upcoming one.

Maybe the ANA should split like some churches do. West coast ANA vs East coast ANA . Have our own shows on the west coast. The ANA has not been here since 2016 . A long 12 years after Chicago in 2028. Highest proportionate number of ANA members on the west coast! Why are we ignored??
Because it's expensive, and not easy to get to for over half of the country. As a result, the shows are simply not well attended. That's why.
PCGS, who is local and has a vested interest in supporting the hobby, could not make shows work there. That's why.
Sucks if you are there and want easy access to large national shows, but there is simply not enough demand to support it.
So, instead of West Coast ANA, for now you have SB subsidizing Long Beach. The ANA has tried, but the shows simply do not do well, and they have to appeal to a national audience. So Rosemont is the compromise, and people complain about that. It is what it is.

How much was the table fee?
Given the $$$ made by all the dealers at FUN and Long Branch, I guess it's seen as an easy payday, huh ?
Table fee is dependent on which tier you choose. Standard Ultra-Premium booth was just over $2K, corner table about $3K. Then the prices scale down progressively from Premium to Select to Economy. Most expensive in the buis I think but potential for most revenue as well.
I might be doing it wrong, but honestly shows are not often all that profitable UNLESS it is an actual barn burner. Just for me and one employee and salary, table fees, flights, hotels, and meals it easily 5-6k cost before even considering my usual monthly overhead of another 1k for that week in fixed costs. ANA is the week long show with expensive tables, it’s different than a couple days at FUN or Rosemont, and it’s not uncommon to lose money at a high cost show if you don’t sell enough.
The important reasons to go are to interact with new clientele, finding fresh material, wholesaling any stale coins for cash flow, and lot viewing, which all can be figured into the equation.

While big shows can attract a big crowd with money to spend there is heavy competition (big gun well off dealers). Flying and going thru airports with coins is stressful (especially these days).
One friend (did nothing but gold coins) said that’s what finally did him in (travel stress). Driving long distances has its risks, stress, worry. Security of inventory is of most importance. Unless it’s locked in bourse room with security over night don’t ever let it out of sight, control.
A bad show can be a real let down. Local shows the most I can lose is the table fee. Getting cash flow is numero uno.
The club tables are now also sold out.
This, I go to Grapevine and TNA shows once in a while and haven't missed a thing
How do those prices compare to other Big Shows, notably FUN ?
I realize hotels and travel (airfare) can be expensive....but isn't the $$$ made on one really good show (i.e., FUN 2026) going to cover multiple stinkers ?
I never thought about the stress issue. Is theft something you can insure against ?

My club has an annual trade show/expo where dealers come from CA all the way to NY and it costs them BIG $$$ to ship a pallet or two of merchandise. And some of them bring 4-6 employees, paying airfare and hotels ! So I see how the expenses can get up there, although when we ask these dealers how they did, they are always happy/ecstatic (if they weren't they wouldn't be back the next year to lose $5,000 or more right off the bat).
Other dealers, especially those more local, might drive to our show and bring less merchandise (or even just already closed sales from the internet to deliver to the client) and break even. Like you said, they're marketing and getting their name out there.
