Thoughts on this Type 2 gold $1

I don't typically buy uncertified gold, but the price was right and it looks good in hand. Weight and dimensions are correct.
What are your thoughts? Genuine? Cleaned? Damaged?
I took photos under different lighting environments, and it's crazy how different the coin looks. In hand, it's quite nice, and doesn't show all the scratchiness that you see in the brighter photos.
I appreciate your help!

Looks real XF40.
