Patriots get good news on AJ Brown trade with Eagles

The New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles may be only a few days away from completing an A.J. Brown trade.

And the reality is that at this point, it seems like that's the only way this can go.

Patriots are making a big mistake in my opinion, by breaking a cardinal rule of team sports. That is never make a trade for a seemingly star player, from a team which has a very smart front office.

Since the Patriots are in the AFC, I wouldn't mind at all if the trade works out well for them. That being said, smart GM's don't get rid of players like this for no reason. Of course AJ Brown's "problems" are already well known, so I won't regurgitate it here. Suffice to say the Patriots are likely picking up some baggage they may not fully understand yet, for a lot of money, that could prove detrimental to the team.

I like Vrabel and I wish him well. I know he coached Brown in college. But Brown as a college player and now as a pain in the neck pro, are two different animals. I think possibly early or midway during the upcoming season, Vrabel might start thinking to himself, "Why the yell did we ever sign this guy?"

    We shall see.

I don't blame you guys for wanting Brown, especially with the hope that he could be the piece of the puzzle that could win a Super Bowl.

I just don't wanna see any complaints on here that you're hissed that Brown decided to take plays off during a game, sometimes in key situations. Because guaranteed he is going to do that.

Will the benefits Brown could bring to a game outweigh his loafing factor? It's possible, and best of luck in that regard.

Patriots trade for Eagles WR A.J. Brown in blockbuster deal

At long last, A.J. Brown is on his way to Foxborough.

The Eagles have traded the star wide receiver to the Patriots in exchange for New England's 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-rounder, Philadelphia announced on Monday. The deal is pending a physical.

The move reunites Brown with Pats head coach Mike Vrabel, for whom the wideout played his first three seasons in Tennessee (2019-2022).

As an Eagles fan, I'm not unhappy with this deal at all.

Perhaps it will work out well for the Patriots. We shall see.

Brown was in a run first offense with a QB that was never going to target him as much as he should,

Jalen Hurts is a good game manager but not a guy where a WR is going to flourish, I think Maye will give him enough targets but not consistently, there will be games where he might see a couple throws and that's it.

If Diggs can handle it I think Brown can but we shall see, he will have to deal with a guy like Mac Hollins being the #1 target in about 40% of the games

I agree. they were able to manage Diggs very well, at least for one season. I think that Mcdaniels will be able to work out a gameplan that can keep AJ happy. at least for a few seasons!

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

The boost of satisfaction a player gets leaving Philly should carry them happily through the next few seasons anywhere. It reminds me of all the fear and doubt after the Pats stole Moss.
