Why does it bother me more that the coin is sideways than the weird striped toning?Obviously someone on this board has seen this coin before. Its just odd. that's all.

So many questions, why does the coin having been photographed rotated sideways bother you? It is very easily fixed if someone chooses to as explained above. Why do you think the toning is "weird"? That woodgrain style of toning is quite common on early wheat cents. And lastly why do you say "obviously someone on the board has seen this coin"? It is possible that someone here has seen it, but certainly not guaranteed.

Personally, I hope they get the full asking price.

Isn't @tradedollarnut looking for this or perhaps he already owns one.

Very attractive coin though I would classify it as brown rather than red-brown.

Steven photoshopped in a different coin than the coin in the op. Look at the prongs, not rattler prongs.

Would bet the farm it's not photoshop, just a quick AI job. But same point, that one is not the real coin.

This appears to be AI to me since not only is the coin different, but the entire slab is different. The paper label is a lighter color, the printing on the label is a style not used by PCGS, the CAC sticker looks to be the wrong size and the slab has odd prongs that are no consistent with a rattler.

A lot of the value of that coin is tied up in the holder and the sticker. I don’t care for woodgrain toning, either, although I know many do. It’s a decent coin but just not my preference.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍
