    I realize Knox bars are 12.7 kilos ... but I wonder how they have been managed :#

    Quite a bit of tungsten in many of those gold bars. The "swap out" likely took place during Clinton administration.

    Who the heck knows? It seems apparent that even the Treasury Dept. doesn't really know the quantity, purity or weights either.

    Super interesting .... I've read about tungsten in gold but what makes you think that this particular circumstance is part of that? Is it the 1 kilo size that are most known for that?

    I very much doubt that the gold there is gone as others tend to believe. It's a small amount compared to US spending and debt.

    There was an audit and Ron Paul and Phil Crane -- two "hard money" guys from the 1960's through 1980's -- were there to see it.
