Which one to buy next?

VetterVetter Posts: 969 ✭✭✭✭✭

I’ve been wanting both of these choices for my collection for some time now. I finally have the money to buy one. Both are about the same price although one is in a lower grade. The choices are. 2008 Unc gold Buffalo 1/10 oz or a $500 bill. I keep switching on which one to get. Any thoughts to help persuade my decision?

Those are pretty different. What do you like/want about each of them?

I'd prefer the $500 bill. A 1/10th oz. gold coin is tiny, the $500 bill would be more visually impressive.

    But then, that's just me.

Or you could have 350 $2 coins

Yeah. I wouldn't but the Mona Lisa either. It's definitely fiat.

I would want the $500 bill (if TPG graded).

No cool factor at all in a little buffalo.

I would prefer the $500. note as it would make a great conversation piece. I believe most who don’t partake in our hobby, would have no knowledge of its existence. Go for a graded specimen from either PMG or PCGS. And your next goal would have to be the $1000. note. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks all. I already have the 2008 gold Buffalo in 1/2 oz so getting the 1/10 oz would give me 2 of the 4, but I’m leaning towards the $500 more.

If your buying the $500 at a good price go for it.
If you buy the gold it will always be liquid.probably just a little more price risk in the $500 but they sell easy.
