1992 cam penny?

I've decided to try again. I've studied this penny for days and since I'm learning I find it hard to tell what is considered a cam. I know it's preferred for them to be touching but also they can be close. Thanks for any help!

    You keep saying you have been studying/researching, but it doesn't look like you are at all. It's not translating into results, in any case.

    Nothing rude about providing honest feedback. Your posting history tells us that you do not have a very good eye for varieties and errors. If you are truly putting in days of study on your coins and still getting nowhere, that pretty much confirms it.

    Forget about cherrypicking varieties and errors and find some other aspect of coin collecting that you enjoy. Numismatics is a very wide-ranging hobby with a multitude of options for you to choose from. No reason at all for you to fixate on varieties and errors, especially when they are not in your wheelhouse.

    I think part of your problem is that you are trying to use the spacing between the A M to distinquish the variety.
    This is the worst place to figure the variety as worn or damaged letters may make the spacing appear different.
    There are others markers that are easier to use.
    You can go by the spacing in the word "STATES". If the A is centered, it is a WAM, if off to the right, it is a CAM.

    Or you can go by the initials., note the spacing. This is what I usually use.

    Thanks so much for making me understand it better. You were very helpful. I only have time to do this in the evenings when I have some time to myself. I have so many containers that I've started at the top of one and working my way down slowly. I don't pick and choose what to post since I don't know exactly what I'm looking for. I go by the books I have and online. If I'm not sure about one I thought this might be a good way to learn. Thanks again Greenstang

    Yes, but to be fair, if they were really studying for days, they should have found this information already. No doubt there are other contributing problems as well.

    Yes, for someone that has a good eye. That doesn't appear to be the case here, unfortunately.

    when starting out, i've found it helpful to keep a wam around to compare
