Very original and clean surfaces. MS65 or 66.

Very few blemishes and quite attractive surfaces. I’ll go with MS66.

MS65 gem with great eye appeal
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Thanks! I wish I could image it as good as Phil could or even as it looks in hand.
In hand, you don’t see any blemishes other than a slight discoloration on the chin and a few bag marks when held at angle. Very attractive and eye catching.
Just short of gem 64+
Logger nailed it, not surprising.
love the reverse color
And to think I used to bash NGC mostly because how loose they are on moderns but now my two favorite coins are NGC.
I sorry 🤣😛
I've had a lot of 01-s tens, fairly common, though the $20s are better in 63 and above. Overall just a superb coin.
They had a bunch of 20s as well but this one was a standout and in my range.
I would have guessed 66, that’s a real nice coin. 1901-s 10s are notorious for being criminally over graded in Ngc holders, there was like a hoard of them in 66 and 67 holders that I don’t like as 65s.
I like this one a lot, that two-tone color is what you want to see.

My guess was 66, that's a great coin with terrific pictures.
For comparison Jay showed me another one graded 65 or 66 and it was very flat yellow and plain looking.
And because it looked so good they had it sitting in their 10k and up cabinet even though it’s under. I’m happy especially after hearing the chimes.
Beautiful 01-S worthy of the grade. Not your typical NGC-graded gold, for sure.

Exceptional surfaces with attractive color- Well played

Thanks everyone! The reassurance is everything.
Actually has three tones with lighter gold color in the center (leaning slightly southwest), darker orange gold on the perimeter, and a pink rose hue around the headdress and some of the face, although that part seems impossible for me to capture with the macro or my cell.
How did they forgive the mark in the right reverse field? I feel that would disqualify the 66+ grade. Kudos to the OP for an overall nice coin.

Looks worse in the picture, only a scrape or graze. I’m not really qualified, but I think eye appeal was the overriding factor.
Wow, beautiful Eagle. I admit I way under graded but I don’t deal in high MS coins, so there’s my excuse.😂
Congrats, really!
