Always discussed on the forum are alternative ways to ensure the end collector gets a shot at these coins - and not the casual flippers who have absolutely no interest (and in some cases dont even know what they are buying).
Another plan to criticize how about a pre-offering of 1 coin per HH if you have purchased the same product/finish line for the last 3 years? This ensures those collectors building sets have reserved coins to purchase.
Its easy enough to send an invitation to those that have the purchase history of 3 prior years of Burnished Gold Eagle (in this case) 24 hours in advance. If you complete the purchase - great - otherwise more for the standard offering at 12 noon on release day.

Unless bigger numbers are offered by the buyers - it wont be difficult to get one. $150 over without a ppd label isnt worth it for most buyers.
I hope you're right, but past experience tells me plenty of those people will do it just to work towards sign up bonuses on credit cards. The buyers club folks are not like us.
Keep in mind, $150 is $150 to them. With a limit of 1, it's the same $150 regardless of how much the item costs, and they expect to get paid long before the credit card bill comes due. So it's not really 2-3 %. It's infinite percent, because they are laying out nothing in advance. TBD.

You make a good point. We all behave differently when it comes to finances. There would be some credit card benefits offered out there to make it a bit more attractive, I suppose.

2-3% on your $5500, minus shipping and insurance ...I agree

Some do it for the cc perks. Juice is not worth the squeeze.
However, if you want one as a collector, thats different.
Some credit cards have sign up bonus about $1k for spending $5-6k. This deal is definitely attractive since the credit card holders just need one transaction to almost meet the spending requirement and get $1k bonus.

Currently about $717 over the cost of a basic 2026 AGE from an online dealer.
Good Luck tomorrow!
I will keep my powder dry for 'best of the mint' stuff .....
It will be interesting to see what the offers are on some of that stuff.
I'm so bummed that they are putting the privy on the HR & 1804. I really like the privy on most of the 250th offerings, but definitely not those. I think it just so defeats the point & really takes away from them.

So, whose still in for one of these. I can't decide , but i'm leaning against it.
Having received no buy offers from the usual suspects is telling, I think.
I’m going to try!!!!
I would think that anyone that wants one will be able to get one if they're at the computer at noon eastern tomorrow.
Good luck and I hope that you really enjoy it.
Not if buyers clubs are sending armies of buyers to slam the website. You'll see.
If ATS is actually 3980, these will be gone in less than 5 minutes, and most people here will be disappointed.
As usual, the Big Boys got theirs, and we will be fighting with bots and buyers clubs for the leftover scraps.
But have you seen many buyers offering for these? $150 profit and you take the risk of shipping and insuring a $5,000 coin seems iffy at best. I haven’t seen much interest in people saying they are jumping on that.

Its amazing that people would be so motivated to buy these things with such little profit. Although I do understand the credit card points thing , but still.

Agreed. Among the people here. But if the buyers clubs are offering laypeople $50 risk free, plus the ability to work toward a credit card sign up bonus, or just points or miles, as at least one apparently is, hundreds or thousands of people are going to jump on it.
You don't have to believe me, or argue with me. Because you won't believe how jammed the waiting room is going to be tomorrow, or how quickly it's going to sell out.
This isn't an opinion or prediction on whether they will be selling on eBay for $5500 or $15,000. Just an observation that things always get nuts when the buying clubs are involved.
Tomorrow is going to be no different. Other than the fact that the opportunity to earn credit card rewards on a $5400 purchase rather than a $100 one is going to attract far more people, not less.

Yeah. Because they aren't us. And it's free money to them. They aren't laying anything out until they get paid.
The only problem is that it's such a no-brainer for them that it crowds us out. With only 4K available, and the buyers club folks chasing it, very few are going to wind up in our hands tomorrow.
I know you said you weren't interested, but I'm betting that FOMO is going to cause you to change your mind between now and noon tomorrow. Multiply that by thousands, or even tens of thousands of people who didn't care about it until they saw how many others did care, and you'll start to get an idea of what the lottery is going to be like tomorrow to actually successfully check out with one.
Incredible.
I'd never heard of buyers clubs until I did on this forum.
It's amazing that thousands of people are in them - and have enough credit to buy these notes less.
Interesting that there was no such interest on the Buff.
For the better Best of the Mint stuff I can only imagine what it will be like
I'm sure many of us who just want 14 our collection will be totally shut out.

Agree. Just take comfort in the fact that you didn't care about this one anyway. With respect to this versus the Buff, there is no telling what attracts their attention and what does not. Except 15K vs. 7500K, which was advertised as 6K until last week, provides a clue.
In any event, with the Mint steering 3500 of 7500 to the Big Boys, this is going to be impossible for most of us to get with thousands of non-collectors chasing it. TBD with the Best of the Mint, because 30K might not excite them.
With any luck, the Buyers Club will get stuck with them if the flip doesn't develop, but I'm pretty sure it will with only 4K being available and with all the hype.

How so? Because the premium is now $1,000 instead of $900? No, that isn't going to make any difference at all when they are only putting 4K on sale and buyers clubs are winding people up to chase them.
Get back to us at 12:05 p.m. tomorrow and tell us how bad the timing was.

Demand for gold buffaloes other than perhaps the first couple of years when they were new and the year of the fractionals (so 2006-2008) has always been tepid. Demand for eagles is much more robust overall.

There you are again, making confident assertions that are most certainly wrong or inaccurate. Of the 3500 difference, a decent quantity (likely 1000 or more) are probably being made available at the big coin show and at the gift shops across the country. Even more could be being withheld from immediate production but available for backorder. But the difference between you and I is that you assert your 3500 number as fact, while I assert mine as possibilities. Don't you get tired of being wrong?
With any luck, the Buyers Club will get stuck with them if the flip doesn't develop, but I'm pretty sure it will with only 4K being available and with all the hype.

I don't see how it won't.
Yes. Here I am. Hold your breath waiting for more to be released after they sell out in less than 5 minutes tomorrow. What "big coin show"? Maybe a few went to the gift shops. Maybe not. But they are not going to create a frenzy at a coin show with a small handful after tomorrow. And, rest assured, the lion's share of that 3500 went to Big Boys. Not gift shops for public distribution tomorrow.
You heard it here first. Confidently. Maybe you'll give me some credit when I turn out to be right, rather than ignoring it and just harping on when I get things wrong.
And, as "much more robust overall" as demand for AGEs is, exactly 2669 uncircs were sold last year, and 2998 the year before. Yes, these are different due to the 250th and EU, but don't make generalizations while lecturing me about always thinking I'm right, with certainty.

Well, well argumentus, what if the cash spot keeps nose diving? Some buyers may have second thoughts. So bad timing on that count. We are both talking tea leaves eh? Except for the apparent number to be offered tomorrow. So you update the feed at 12:05 pm. for the post mortem. Thanks

Not going to matter. They will gone by 12:05 p.m. tomorrow. No one is going to have second thoughts, although some credit cards might fail. Because the secondary market price will be well in excess of $5370, even if spot dips to $4K in the next few weeks.

You've got a point. But a special finish and SemiQ date will bring the buyers in. I never expected the Buffalo sales to do as well as they did but demand has been strong so this should be no different. Probably more so because I believe there are more AGE collectors.

I didn't realize that there was a show tomorrow. I think you are correct -- the Mint will be there tomorrow, and so will almost certainly have some coins for sale. A small portion of the 3500, but still. Probably 100-200.

Less than 1500 out of the approx. 6000 Enhanced Eagles struck went to the Big-Boys, Einstein. They also paid well over $5800 per coin around two weeks ago, fyi.

Says who? If 3500 are gone, far more than 1500 went to Big Boys. Not less. Einstein. Because 2000+ aren't going to be showing up in the gift shops and PAN.
And, the mintage is 7500. Not 6000. Einstein.
So yes, I am right -- you don't know what you're talking about.

Always discussed on the forum are alternative ways to ensure the end collector gets a shot at these coins - and not the casual flippers who have absolutely no interest (and in some cases dont even know what they are buying).
how about a pre-offering of 1 coin per HH if you have purchased the same product/finish line for the last 3 years? This ensures those collectors building sets have reserved coins to purchase.
Another plan to criticize
Its easy enough to send an invitation to those that have the purchase history of 3 prior years of Burnished Gold Eagle (in this case) 24 hours in advance. If you complete the purchase - great - otherwise more for the standard offering at 12 noon on release day.
TBD.
It looks different enough to have perceived value. Not as enhanced as I would have liked, but it will be a solid purchase IMO.
You make a good point. We all behave differently when it comes to finances. There would be some credit card benefits offered out there to make it a bit more attractive, I suppose.
Absolutely agree!
Price is set for the opener.......
American Eagle 2026 One Ounce Gold Enhanced Uncirculated Coin
AMERICAN EAGLE COINS
WEST POINT (W)
$5,370.00
Updated Mintage now shows at 7500
Bargain!
So, whose still in for one of these. I can't decide , but i'm leaning against it.
Having received no buy offers from the usual suspects is telling, I think.
I’m going to try!!!!

And on queue...PFS Buyers Club comes out with their typical low-ball offer (but they do cover shipping/insurance).
(( The cost of each order (of one coin) will be $5,370 + $5.95 Shipping. We are offering $5,426.00 = a $50.05 profit. ))

Here is the sale price for all you buyers out there.............good luck to you.
Mint Link
Currently about $717 over the cost of a basic 2026 AGE from an online dealer.
Good Luck tomorrow!
I will keep my powder dry for 'best of the mint' stuff .....
I would think that anyone that wants one will be able to get one if they're at the computer at noon eastern tomorrow.
Good luck and I hope that you really enjoy it.
It will be interesting to see what the offers are on some of that stuff.
I'm so bummed that they are putting the privy on the HR & 1804. I really like the privy on most of the 250th offerings, but definitely not those. I think it just so defeats the point & really takes away from them.
Yeah, but ats = 3980.
I haven’t seen much interest in people saying they are jumping on that.
these days you have to ship registered

Fascinating.
Hate getting shut out of coins for my collection for this.

Gold spot is $4370 right now. Bad timing for that release.
Thanks
The dual date eagle is still for sale though.
Not going to matter. They will gone by 12:05 p.m. tomorrow. No one is going to have second thoughts, although some credit cards might fail. Because the secondary market price will be well in excess of $5370, even if spot dips to $4K in the next few weeks.
outside of 1 poor photo we aren't 100% sure what these even look like
seems like something only a set lover would buy
The PAN coin show. I'm not sure if the mint will be there or not but PCGS will be.
Your track record doesn't give me much confidence, but if you're right I'll so.
You've got a point. But a special finish and SemiQ date will bring the buyers in. I never expected the Buffalo sales to do as well as they did but demand has been strong so this should be no different. Probably more so because I believe there are more AGE collectors.
I agree though, spot price won't matter.
So yes, @ProofCollection was right - you don't know what you're talking about.
Every damned hobby forum...
it's the same few people ruining it
No waiting room yet.
If memory serves me correctly, usually for really hot stuff, the waiting room is already up, is it not?
Most often, although there was not one for the Mayflower quarters at initial release.
I did not follow them. Were they crazy?
This thread is pretty quiet 12 minutes out for a hot issue, if that's what it will be.
Shhhhh....don't draw attention...LOL!
The Mint screen refreshes instantaneously , so not sure how many people are really chasing this.
Still no waiting room. I think this one is not as hot as expected.
Not only that, the screen refreshes instantly.
