Coinstar machines seem a lot less busy these days.
I used to see many people at Coinstar machines. Recently I have seen very few. My own Coinstar machine reject slot finds have dropped off to almost nothing (one 1959-D silver dime in the last month and nothing else).
What is the situation in your area?
All glory is fleeting.

I haven't found anything in my local Coinstar in about two years. Customers (or potentially employees) seem to be either checking it or grabbing their coins far more regularly than they used to. I remember one of my last finds in the area was a massive $11 pocket change dump plus a couple foreigns! (Of course, this was around the time ALL the Coinstars in my area temporarily bugged out
)
Funnily enough, when I went to Indianapolis this week (I leave this afternoon), when we went to Walmart, I happened to get stuff out of the Coinstar. Nothing rare, nothing special, but over $2 in pocket change, mostly quarters! I've also found coins in machines in other places (mainly Delaware), so it just seems my local area is just sucked dry.

- Someone, probably
I got a 64 roosie bout 2 months ago and zilch on the test of it. Your right bout not finding much these days
Too many folks have caught on to the idea of checking the reject bins.

I have never once found even a single coin in any coinstar machine I have ever checked.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
I've gone from rare finds to none in several months. Plus, a lot of people walking by the machine and looking at the bin, casually.
Seeing just as many people using them but also seeing employees (Walmart, Giant Eagle) checking them as they walk by. Still find stuff periodically. Momma has far better luck than me these days. RGDS!
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

Wooooha! Did someone just say it's officially "TACO™" Tuesday????
Retiring at 55, what day is today?
After all these years I can honestly say I’ve never used a coinstar, nor looked in a reject or return slot.

Last time I was at the grocery store a lady was dumping in a midsized jug of change. Some made it into the discard bin but I didn't want to wait around till she was done.
She was there with another lady and they didn't seem to be paying much attention to what the discard tray held...just pouring out the jug.
Probably a missed opportunity but I had to grab a few things for dinner and head home.
Otherwise pretty slim pickings, just a few foreign coins.
Your missing out.
Now that newfangled Pokémon machines have taken over with scalpers loitering waiting for them to load.
One would think in this economy, it would be busy ?
Or not any more 😕
Yup , I hear that !
People don't use cash as much today as they used to. I'm not surprised that these change machines would be less busy.
My local Kroger had one of those but removed it a few days ago. Apparently loitering was becoming a problem.
Where I live the Walmart and grocery stores have a slot where you can dump coins and not get charged any fee, so that seems the death knell to a Coinstar in the same shop
