Vince Lombardi Find

AhmanfanAhmanfan Posts: 4,468 ✭✭✭✭

Hi,

Some of you know I’m always out digging around seeing what I can uncover. I rarely post here unless it’s worthwhile, I thought this was.
Unbelievably, Found at my local used bookstore, on the sports shelf. Jacket is a little rough but book underneath is clean.

Book is on its way to our overlords now, hoping they agree it is spot on with a personalized Lombardi in their exemplar files.

wow! that is fantastic. I watch one of those stupid hoarder shows on TV and saw that they go through every book in a house before tossing because apparently back in the old days some people would actually store cash in books! can you imagine that. maybe it was old people who didnt trust the banks after the great depression?

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

    True story:
My brother is a big estate sale guy and about 10 years ago did one and bought a box of kitchen stuff for $5 because there was something in there his wife wanted. Got it all home, went through it and there was $16K in cash in a cookie tin.

On the other hand last fall we had to clean out my inlaws house (both had dementia/Alzheimer's), did what we could to go through as much as we could but the house was too big and too much stuff. It all went in a sale. If someone got something like that we were OK with it.

    Thx all
I run estate sales professionally (not full time), and we have found some crazy stuff. Not usually sports related but it is fun to run them.

I would buy another of those books with a great condition book sleeve and swap it.

Walls and under floor boards were a popular choice as well back then. Cellars behind the stone walls too.
