The population higher isn't 0, it the thousands of problem-free examples that PCGS has graded. This coin contains 4 cents worth of copper. That's what it's worth.

I can tell that you are a tough negotiator, so I will just have to raise my offer. In addition to the pebble, I am now offering a piece of dirt in exchange for your coin. It is a beautiful piece of dirt and certified genuine. 👍

I think you will find this new offer more than reasonable. Thank you.

(Honestly) If I were selling this coin at a show, I would throw it in the discount basket, ask $5 and take $4.

By all means, then, tell us what you want to get for the coin. You got a real offer from CuKevin, and I'd have taken it in a heartbeat. You have a damaged coin that had no real reason to be graded.

Here's a problem-free red gem, and it sold for less than $15 shipped:

There are plenty more like it.

    Dear airplanenut,

    Thank you for your opinion.

Every coin has its story. This particular coin’s story (coin 1C 1960 D as shown on the picture) started when my wife and I opened a US coins roll at the beginning of 2022 and found it with several others. It stood out to us. We were intrigued to find out whether this coin would be of a special value or not. Therefore we sent it to PCGS, the world renown and respected coin grading company which we trust. After examining and grading the coin, PCGS valued this coin as „Genuine -UNC Details (92-cleaned)“. And we accepted it as such.

Therefore I can tell here that this coin is a unique special one, among thousand others that may exist.

The grading information of PCGS is backing this up.

Not all that glitters is gold. This is a special coin. You love it or you leave it. Thank you.

There's just one little problem, as illustrated by this Venn diagram:

    Dear Airplanenut,
Thank you for your kind thought. I really appreciate it :-)).
However, I am quite positive, that we will find a common ground. And that the diagram looks more
    something like this :
Have you noticed the space between your two circles ?
I see this space as a symbol for the right for everyone to have a space to say yes or no :-)).

Let’s put the two circles together like this : …..

… and then we will meet at the „junction“ …. … let’s call it the „green zone“ or common ground. .
    .
Accepting to put these two circles together, and finding a common ground, is what I call strength, respect
and courage to negotiate. The solution is here !
Please, always let us look for the common ground - the green zone - the solution between us and the rest of
the world. I am certain we will find it, my friend :-)) . Thank you.

Sorry to bump this but it's basically at the top anyway...
What do you think is a reasonable offer on this?
Do you understand what "Unc Details-Cleaned" means? It is not a good thing. It means that there is a problem (Cleaned in this case) with the coin and PCGS cannot assign it a numerical grade.
PCGS needs to update the cert verification for details coins to say "N/A" under population higher to avoid this exact type of confusion.

Genuine question. @swisslabel , what's your asking price? Let us know, as that would be a more productive conversation.

I really will need a starting point. I am insatiably curious to discover what you would consider a reasonable offer. It is always customary for a prospective seller to first provide an offer, then for a prospective buyer to counter. Not the other way around. This rule exists to break an impasse, such as this, where no negotiable number has been put forth. Since offers ranging from $0.02 to $7.00 have been made by other members, it would be furthermore courteous of you to make at least a general counteroffer.
